Descriptive topic and prewriting only

Submit Descriptive Essay topic and prewriting only: Not essay itself!

You will write a descriptive essay that is based on a phenomenon, festival, food, event or place that you can describe from your culture or country. Do not write a story! (We do that next.) Make it vivid! We will be displaying our essays at the International Education Days event. You should also pick a picture that goes well with your descriptive essay and print it out. 

Here, online, submit the topic and simple prewriting.  Be ready to share your topic and prewriting in class.

The prewriting submitted here online can be clustering, listing, brainstorming, freewriting, cubing, etc. It needs to show that you have thought about the topic you picked. Keep in mind this will be descriptive and should include what is discussed in Ch. 7 and at the following site: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/685/03/

For example, if I picked the topic of favorite American cuisine, I could make a list of what I might write about.

American cuisine

What I like: hamburgers, pizza, french fries, steak, salad, toasted ravioli, etc.

What I do not like: Fatty, salty, sugary

Why I like it: Because it fills me up and is substantial.

Etc.

Another option is that you could make bubbles or just freewrite about the topic.
