Module 3 - clarification

Identify the range of approaches to remote service delivery and the pros and cons of each approach in relation to the design of services.

Hi Everyone, module three requires students to consider the various ways that services may be delivered/provided to remote areas and the appropriateness of these service designs.

For example if the service was provided therapeutic counselling within a remote location, it is likely that face to face service could be optimal, however, this service may only be available on a visiting basis.  If this was the case, could there be a role for virtual services (online, skype, phone) to supplement the support to clients between visits?  One benefit of face to face could be the capacity to establish rapport with clients however, the design of service delivery may not be affordable or sustainable.  Some drawbacks of online/phone counselling are missing some non-verbal cues.

So, start with identifying the different ways that remote communities receive services, than consider the appropriateness of the design to the type of service being delivered.

I hope this helps to clarify.
