General Instructions

All assignments are due by the date indicated above.

No late submissions will be accepted. Note: From time to time you may experience computer or network issues or personal challenges that may impede you submitting on time. Plan ahead so that you have plenty of time to submit.

All submissions must be made in Microsoft Word or pdf format unless otherwise stated. ZIP, RAR, or any other file types other than Word will not be marked.

The submission should be a Word document with 3 links to your online media as specified below.

Have a friend or family member click test your links to make sure they open to the correct website. Websites that are not published (not visible to anyone other than you) and social media that links to the main page of twitter and LinkedIn will receive a zero.

Each of these must be “branded,” using the techniques discussed in the course. Utilize key words, substantive content, strong writing, consistent visual elements and design; tailor messages to the specific audience and the specific platform. Content should be reflective of your personal brand. Online branding must be consistent with offline. See Rubric for details.

Provide link to:

Your personal website

Your website must contain content as we discussed in class (in other words, don’t just have a tab for pages such as “About Me” or “Testimonials”, but provide actual content on these pages (for example, the testimonials can be the same letters of recommendation you used for your offline portfolio). Use the techniques and tools we discussed from in class, especially the week we covered website/social media.

Your website must also contain a minimum of two blog posts with substantive content (as discussed in class – 300-500 words of content) and the website should reflect your personal brand from a visual and content standpoint. See Rubric for details.

Grading:

Your mark will reflect how complete your submission is, how well you have thought out and communicated your brand, and how well that brand is reflected in these materials. Your online materials must demonstrate your professionalism. Polished. Proof-read. Effectively written.

NOTE:

Branded = consistent with the visual and verbal brand profile you have developed throughout this course. All material must be “on-brand,” and support the goal of establishing you as a business professional. You will submit this assignment by submitting a Word document (comprised of your 3 links) through the ASSIGNMENT section in BlackBoard.
