Classroom Management Plan Peer Review
Professor and Class,
My classroom management plan is designed for an all-day kindergarten class. This plan will include my classroom setup, daily procedures and my behavioral rewards and consequences.
Section one: Classroom Set up and Organization:
For classroom setup and organization, I will start by first giving everything a home. Meaning where the class library will go, where their homework folders will be turned in, where their jackets and backpacks will me hung up or placed in a cubby. Ensuring that everything has a home and making sure that everything is organized will make a welcoming environment for my students learning. My desk will be placed in an area where I can see all of my students at all times so that I can ensure their safety. On my desk there will be a container where students can put their unshaped pencils so I can sharpen them when they need to be sharpened and place them in the sharped pencil container where students can go to get a new pencil should they need one. On the students decks they will all have pencil boxes containing pencils, color pencils, highlighters and extra erasers.
Section two: Classroom Rules and Dailey Procedures:
From the start of the school year I will have a classroom rules chart that I will have hung in the classroom so that the students can visually see it. I will go over the rules on the first day and enforce them daily, meaning going back over them as needed to ensure that the students know what expectations I have for my classroom. When a student does not follow the rules, I will refer back to the rules I placed on the wall and reread them again to make them clear.
My Classroom Rules are as follows:
Keep our hands and feet to ourselves. No touching other students including their personal items.
Have respectful listening ears. Listen when it’s not your turn to talk, raise your hand if you have questions, no blurting or interrupting when its my turn or when it’s your peers turn.
Walking feet inside the classroom and in the hallways.
Be ready to learn and have your thinking cap on.
Raise your hand if you need to go to the bathroom and do not leave the classroom unless you have permission from your teacher.
Give it your all every day!
Section three: Behavioral rewards and consequences:
Positive behavior will be met with rewards or praise.
For positive behavior I will do the follow in my kindergarten classroom:
Verbal praise
Extra recess
Prize box
Happy note home to show their family
In my kindergarten class we will have a color chart that will have purple for outstanding behavior, green for good behavior, yellow for a warning and red for bad behavior such as, not listening, not following the rules, being disruptive or harming another student.
For negative Behavior the consequences will be as follows:
Verbal warning
Moving of their clip from green to yellow and a personal talk with me.
Moving their clip from yellow to red, losing their next recess and a note home.
