Contemporary Issues in Food Safety

This is where you will begin writing your introduction. The introduction should not refer to the paper within itself, i.e., “this paper will describe”…but it should give the reader an introduction to the topics within the paper. It should contain the thesis statement, what it is you will be proving in the paper. For purposes of this paper it would be something along the lines of there are threats to food safety in today’s global society that need to be addressed. Tampering, bioterrorism, and different food safety standards in different parts of the world must be addressed to keep the global food supply safe. Or something along those lines. Then you will have four sections which will all have a level 2 header because they are three main sections of the paper. If for instance you would take the “tampering” section and divide that into two or more sections (pre-consumer tampering and post-consumer tampering) you would have two “level 3” headers under the header “Tampering”. For purposes of this paper, you really do not need more than the Level 1. If you would have additional sub sections in your paper, please see this resource for how to format them: https://apastyle.apa.org/instructional-aids/heading-template-student-paper.pdf

Tampering

Sub-section your essay using sub-headers in the same sequence you introduced your topic in your lead paragraph, your thesis. Write the section on tampering. Begin by introducing the topic and be sure to include a definition of the term tampering (and sources). Include some examples for illustration and maybe some examples of how tamper evident seals have evolved or ways to detect tampering. Transition to the next paragraph/topic. There should only be one topic developed for each paragraph.

Bioterrorism

Sub-section your essay using sub-headers in the same sequence you introduced your topic in your lead paragraph, your thesis. Write the section on bioterrorism. Begin by introducing the topic and be sure to include a definition of the term bioterrorism (and sources). Include some examples for illustration and maybe some examples of what agents might be used in a bioterror attack or how. Transition to the next paragraph/topic. There should only be one topic developed for each paragraph.

Differing Food Safety Standards

Sub-section your essay using sub-headers in the same sequence you introduced your topic in your lead paragraph, your thesis. Write the section on how there may be different food safety standards in different parts of the world. Begin by introducing the topic and be sure to include some examples of how one country may have different rules and regulations than another country (and sources). Include some examples for illustration and maybe some. Transition to the next paragraph/topic. There should only be one topic developed for each paragraph.

Implications on Global Food Safety

Sub-section your essay using sub-headers in the same sequence you introduced your topic in your lead paragraph, your thesis. This section is your analysis and tying everything together. Show how the above three topics can have an impact on the safety of the global food supply. The previous paragraphs were mostly definition, this one some analysis and critical thought comes into play on a higher level. There should only be one topic developed for each paragraph.

Conclusion

Begin to summarize the main points of your topic in three to five sentences. The conclusion of your paper should re-phrase the points of what your reader should be left remembering, nothing new, concise and to the point.
