  1. Draw an anatomical heart. You may choose to draw your heart from any perspective but be sure to label your drawing with the perspective you choose (anterior, posterior, etc.). Include these structures:

  2. Right and left atria

  3. Right and left ventricles

  4. All four heart valves (each labeled with their specific name)

  5. Chordae tendineae

  6. Papillary muscles

  7. Interventricular septum

  8. Pulmonary arteries

  9. Pulmonary veins

  10. Aorta

  11. Vena Cava

  12. Draw a diagram of blood flow through the body. This diagram does not need to be anatomically correct. It could look like a flowchart, if you prefer to create your diagram that way. Your diagram should include (at least) these labels:

  13. All four heart chambers (labeled individually)

  14. All four heart valves (labeled individually)

  15. Aorta

  16. Vena Cava, superior and inferior

  17. Capillaries

  18. Label deoxygenated and oxygenated blood

  19. Draw an image or schematic that demonstrates how the lymphatic system works with the cardiovascular system. Start with the capillary bed and work up to the heart. Include the following:

  20. Direction of blood flow

  21. Direction of lymph flow

  22. Identify at least one lymph node

  23. Heart

  24. Arteries

  25. Veins

  26. Capillaries

Submission Requirement:

  • Drawings must be completed by hand, traditionally or digitally.

  • Start the drawing from a blank piece of paper or new file. Do not use an outline, such as a coloring book page.

  • Artistic ability will not be graded.

  • The information must be accurate, and organs/structures must relate to each other appropriately.

  • Labels must be legible and spelled correctly.

  • A photo, scan, or screenshot of the hand-drawn work must be submitted as a Word document or .pdf.

  • Drawings that are not completed by hand, traditionally or digitally, will not be accepted and will result in 0 points for the assignment. If an outline, such as a coloring book page, is used, the submission will not be accepted and will result in 0 points for the assignment.
