Executive summary

This strengthsfinder 2.0 report reflects on understanding of my strengths after reading the text and performing the Gallup assessment . This report speaks in detail about what I do the best highlighting upon 2 prominent things and the activities that I seem to pick quickly that gives me greatest satisfaction. Furthermore, an analysis of the assessment results identifying my top 5 signature themes and how the same resonates with me along with providing insights of what managers , supervisors and coworkers are required to know about me . Last but not the least the report also reflects on my success areas and the talents I possess that is of a great asset at the professional front.

Overall, it has been a great experience reading the text and assessing my strengths . I was able to know much more about me and develop my strength & areas to improve check list.

What do you do best?

Of all the things that I do , if I have to say two things that stand out it would be the way I handle people and to ensure a transformational workspace. I certainly feel it is very important to effectively interact and manage people at workplace as we can never function alone. I possess excellent interpersonal and sound communication skills to facilitate better interaction and a hazzle free work environment. My style of leadership is transformational in the sense I always look to find better ways of doing things and overcome challenging and evolve around the ever-changing environment. “I possess skills such as motivation , excitement and transcend my personal interests for the sake of a larger community “(Bateman , 2019).

The activities that I seem to pick quickly is active engagement with people and being non-hesitant to engage in a new crowd. The reason I am good at this is that I enjoy knowing people and strongly believe that people are the biggest asset for an organization which should certainly be valued and included in the balance sheets. As a very customer centric and an effective people manager , customer satisfaction is something that I really cherish that serves as the one of my big motivating factors. I strongly believe any activity that brings utmost satisfaction to the customer brings content and self-satisfaction.

StrengthsFinder Results

“The Clifton strengths assessment actually measures talent and not strength , but the crux here is to understand that talent is one of the most important ingredients needed to build strength “ (Rath, 2020 ). The book discusses about 34 themes that categorize talents by creating a common language . The assessment questions are structured in a way that gives us only 20 seconds to answer as the aim here is for us to give straight answers and not spend too much time thinking Coming to results of the assessment , the top 5 themes that are my strengths are Restorative , Achiever, Consistency, Responsibility and Discipline. I would resonate all of these but the one that most resonates would be “achiever” . As per the report and as far as I have assessed myself , I am a fighter and always strive to achieve with zeal and immense hard work. I can totally resonate with this team, as I have been provided the same feedback during my professional review sessions . I love challenges and take the same with immense positivity and excitement. By nature, I am very passionate about work and would dive into it to take charge and assume responsibilities. There have been many instances when I have taken charge as a motivator and an influencer to address issues or even have general conversations.

Basis my signature themes , my managers or supervisors should know that the work that is delegated to me shall be completed at sincerity and within deadlines. They can also expect some out of box thinking and innovative ways to solve issues or complexities. I am someone who considers work climate a very essential prerequisite for positive functioning of an organization. So, they can be sure of me very diligently following the rules and policies in place that helps sets the tone of a good working environment (Thomson , 2020)

In terms of what my co-workers can expect is, I am a very disciplined person who gives immense importance to the work assigned and takes responsibility of completing the same. They should understand that I am an active team player and can be very flexible when it comes to working in groups. I always strive to have a positive team with a common goal and with enough measure in place to avoid any goal conflicts that may arise. I think it is important for my colleagues to know about me so that they are also prepared of what to expect from me and at the same time develop a sense of trust in me.

I feel my managers and supervisors can give me more opportunities to manage teams where I get to involve with more people and assume responsibilities and at the same time be restorative to adept at dealing with problems. I feel this would give me chance to assess my leadership style in a real time business case and find ways to enrich and become a successful leader. I certainly possess strong consistency in whatever I do and ensure detailing is done for every project assigned.

Celebrating Success

Significant achievement in last 12 months

The last 8 months have been very unpredictable due to COVID-19 where I was exposed to various challenges professionally, starting from managing our existing electrical projects where we were to be prohibited from working at job sites due to the surge in the virus. Our company faced various issues in terms of cash positions , future of projects etc. My biggest achievement was when I swiftly managed relationship with our suppliers by ensuring prompt payment patterns and accepting to the hike in our material procurement costs . I was able to maintain cash solvency by vigorously following up on our account’s receivables outstanding . I stepped into the shoes of a manager / leader to single handedly manage issues and at the same time getting the required support from the team members. I never treated myself as an entitled leader to get influenced by the title but instead took the responsibilities of an engaged leader during every stage of decision making (Solheim)

Pride at work

I feel proud of managing unpredictable situations that tested my patience and my willpower to overcome the challenge. I feel proud when I get appreciated for my work and certainly believe in the efforts to accomplish the goal rather than the results. I also felt extremely proud when I changed a status quo in terms of re-classifying certain fixed costs in our company to an enhanced activity-based costing principle I implemented in the company.

Support at work

I strongly believe in teamwork and support from top management during all times. There requires flexibility and down up approach for effective management, taking in suggestions from line level workers as they are better exposed to the actual issues and complexities. Support at my workplace that I would really appreciate is the technology support in terms of digitalizing the day to day work which not only reduces the time but at the energy spent on non value added activities.

Applying talents to the role

Distractions

There are a lot of things that stops the flow of work there by reduces productivity , bring down the morale of the group. I would certainly like to avoid certain distractions such as taking frequent breaks and over socializing which distracts the flow of work and it would be difficult to bring back the focus and continuity. Yes it is important to speak to people on other things apart from work but there requires a time limit that needs to be set for all to avoid disturbance into the main work.

Talents that would benefit with better opportunities

If the organization is more flexible in terms of digitalizing and using new software to increase productivity , I shall be able to use my disciplined and responsibility talent to better use . I have the capability to learn things at a rapid rate and also mentor my team for better efficiency
