Using the website, I managed to create two effective strategies to prevent youth violence. The first strategy is the parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). PCIT refers to a treatment program for children with behavioral and emotional disorders. It helps to improve the quality of relationship between the child and the parent as well as modifying the interaction patterns. The second strategy is the Girls and boys Club Gang prevention through targeted outreach. It is a strategy that help to build a network to be able to asses problems of the gang and recruit such youths and provide them with alternative activities (Cdc.gov, 2016). The difference between the two strategies is that PCIT focuses on children and grown individuals while the second strategy specifically focuses on youths who are big enough to make their own decisions.

Given a change, I would actually implement the second strategy. I would execute the Girl and Boys Club Gang Prevention through Targeted Outreach since it has been common in my home town and I have experienced the impacts of such gangs. I think this will be impactful and easy to execute since such gangs are found in the city. The strategy creates a network linking the clubs with police, courts, schools, community organizations and through direct outreach efforts where young people at-risk are identified and mainstreamed into cub programs to divert them from activities of the gang in a non-stigmatization manner (Cdc.gov, 2020). I would also implement such strategy since it has worked well in families, communities and youths across America. It will help to reduce and prevent gang activities to youths between the age of 6 to 18. It will also help to promote socially positive interaction for the adolescents and children.

The strategy has a wide range of benefits to a community and hence the reason I would prefer to implement it (Arbreton et al., 2005). First, it can help to delay the establishment of newer gang behaviors, secondly it can help to reduce the number of youths involved in juvenile justice system due to reduction of criminal activities. Thirdly it can help to reduce delinquent behaviors like smoking, dropping out of school and disrespecting parents. Finally, it can aid in improving the grades of the youths in school since that will use a lot of their time focusing on education rather than gang activities.
