Strategic management and strategic competitiveness refer to the planning, analysis, and monitoring of all the activities carried out in an organization to enhance the achievement of organizational goals and objectives, and remain competitive in the market. Globalization and technology are key to strategic management and competitive in various corporations across the world by facilitating operation processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery. Organizations could perform above average upon utilization of global and technological models and remain significant in the markets as well as offering maximum satisfaction to customers. The overall success of a company is influenced by the vision and mission statement which enables the employees to work towards achieving certain goals and objectives. This essay will, therefore, discuss the impact of globalization and technology changes for Amazon.com, Inc. Corporation Company determine the strategic models behind the success of the company. The paper will also analyze the stakeholders, mission, and vision statements leading to its success.

Globalization

Amazon is a technological multinational company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. The company operates under four principles where customer-centricity and desire for innovation and invention are the primary focus. The firm is committed to operational excellence and long-term thinking to make effective and productive business choices and offer maximum satisfaction to the customers across the world. Amazon has a multinational impact with branches in the United States, Canada, Central America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, and customer centers all over the world. The company has employed over 750,000 employees across the world to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery (Hitt et al., 1).

Amazon extended to neighboring countries to market their products and reach more customers but the company’s business strategy opened other places for Amazon to set up operating offices and branches. The marketing skills demonstrated by the experienced Amazon staff played a primary role in enhancing the company’s expansion across the globe. Production of unique production an high level of innovation and invention enabled the company to reach many customers in the world. Amazon adopted a global strategy of identifying new markets in quickly growing countries conversant with ecommerce and opening retail to publicize the company and make more sales. Globalization has enabled Amazon to become a market leader in ecommerce and impact innovation across the world positively.

Technology

Technological changes have enabled Amazon to maintain a high level of innovativeness to meet the demands of customers across the world. Amazon launched the Dash Button (virtual) technology in 2015 to enhance control of the size of a gum pack in the house and limit human movements within the house (Hitt et al., 1). The technology was well embraced by customers and the company many large sales. The user could only press a button and see everything done as expected. The Amazon Fresh technology developed in the 1990s is an online grocery shopping that has been effective up to date and no other firm has ever imitated or improved the technology because of its uniqueness and level of satisfaction to customers. 

Amazon introduced Amazon Prime Air to the market to enable customers to receive their prime orders for a maximum of 30 minutes without the company breaking speed limits to get to the customer. Other technologies put in the market by Amazon are Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire Phone to compete with other multinational technology companies like Apple and Microsoft. Technology in Amazon has greatly impacted the company by improving processes and assisting employees to embrace innovation and invention to remain relevant in the market and compete favorably with other firms across the world. 

Diffusion and disruptive technologies have affected Amazon in a big percentage. The company is seen as one of the most disruptive companies in the world because of the level of technology and innovativeness embraced. Amazon disrupted traditional companies that depended on the old system of administration, production, marketing, and distribution of goods and services by bringing new ideas and serving a wide range of customers without physical movements. 

Industrial Organization Model

Amazon industrial organization model is built upon the company’s three main characteristics namely; hierarchical corporate structure, the flexibility of the business, and stability in the top management. The company’s model is hierarchical because Amazon is headed by three CEOs, among them the founder Jeff Bezos, and three senior vice presidents who play vital roles within and out of the organization and report directly to the CEO. The company adopted a hierarchical business model to adhere to the diversification strategy of making its products and services reach a wide number of customers across the world efficiently. The model has enabled Amazon to serve more customers and earn above-average returns to keep the company moving. 

Resource-Based Model

Amazon company acknowledges resources as the key contributor to business success. The company value resources and purchases quality to keep competitiveness in the business and profits as required. Amazon resources include EC2 instance, Amazon S3 bucket, and AWS Cloud-Formation stack and the company acknowledges that the resources are scarce, valuable and can’t be substituted thus there is a need to enhance resource safety. Amazon's resource-based model is based on strategic resources that are unique from those of the competitors and can help the company produce quality goods and services to satisfy the customers. Such resources give room for innovation and can either be assets or non-assets. Amazon’s branches are located in strategic areas across the globe to meet different customer expectations and preferences. 

Vision

The vision statement for Amazon company is “to be Earth’s most customer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online.” (Onyusheva & Seenalasataporn, 2) The vision statement influences the company’s productivity by setting the customer as a priority in all the operations. after all the activities, the company’s end product is a happy client. The company aims at becoming the leading ecommerce company in the world and serving a wide range of customers globally. The vision of Amazon serves as a goal that employees work toward achieving. 

Mission

The mission statement is “We strive to offer our customers the lowest possible prices, the best available selection, and the utmost convenience.” (Majed et al., 3) Amazon aims at providing attractive products at low prices to make more sales and acquire profits. The company values convenience and encourages customers to make the best selections because all the goods and services available meet their demands and preferences. Amazon considers price, selection, and convenience as key to customers

Stakeholders

Amazon Corporation stakeholders are strategic partners, directors, customers, and employees. The four identified groups play an essential role in ensuring the success of the company. Stakeholders play the role of making decisions and engaging in activities such as financial projecting and milestone date setting. Directors perform the fiduciary duties while customers make purchases and evaluate the usefulness of the products, then recommend or seek for improvement. Employees commit themselves towards realizing happy and satisfied customers and strategic partners are external stakeholders who advise Amazon and offer support in terms of finances where necessary. All the stakeholders have played their parts perfectly to see Amazon Corporation leading the technology market in the world today.
