Effective IT strategies are essential as they strike a balance between stability and agility as well as between security and accessibility which is often difficult to achieve. A proper strategic plan attributed to IT strategies achieve the mentioned balance through striving for scalable operations and systems which are often highly resilient and responsive (McKeen & Smith, 2017). The following IT strategic plan identifies some of the potential opportunities likely to improve the internal operations of a business organization in the world of evolving technology. In this plan, three major identified goals include improving security and privacy protections against possible cyber threats and breaches, ensuring that the IT systems are supporting the essential mission functions of an organization. Lastly, to develop new information management as well as analysis capabilities which help in assessing risks in an organization
Introduction
1. What are the Information Security and Privacy mechanisms that guarantee IT solutions is secure?
Using multi-factor authentication for accessing end-user devices as well as computer systems can be used as one of the approaches for achieving comprehensive security and privacy thus it is important to use strong passwords and Personal identification verification which authenticate systems (Lubomski & Krawczyk, 2017). The devices used to store information should be provided with security and privacy control measures, hence it is imperative to explore technologies that protect confidential information. Authorized users should be made to understand, accept and follow the responsibilities related to security and privacy. The outcome of this plan is to guarantee the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of information systems are maintained.
2. What are the available measures to ensure availability of IT in an organization ensures continuity of operations
The most relevant measures to guarantee continuity of operations include ensuring continuous availability of mission associated with essential services. Secondly, the ability to mitigate enterprise risks that are linked with the geographical location of the data center. In addition ensuring that there are measures capable of evaluating secure and safe cloud computing options need to be considered (Schneier, 2015). Reducing reliance on legacy applications is also a measure that can ensure continuity of operations.
3. How are the appropriate information management and analytics helpful to the
The information management and analytics enable access, sharing and integration of seamless data. With this in mind, corporate analysis, reporting, application development, and application are led by business divisions (Ariza, 2014). Mature information management capabilities will align the target enterprise data architecture and lead to achieving corporate objectives. Data analysis and visualization tools inform and support decisions which are appropriate to respond to the emerging business scenarios.
