Mapping Strategic Goals

Introduction

With the dynamism in the business world many companies have been forced to change their business model by developing very elaborate and comprehensive strategic management goals which would enable them realize some of their objectives. According to Tim Cook a company’s success and continues growth is largely influenced by the strategic goals be they be long or short term a company comes up with. And even more importantly are the tasks which are set out to ensure realization of the strategic goals set. Therefore the process of coming up with the company’s strategic goals or objectives is normally one of the most cumbersome process as not just any strategy is necessary for the company besides only the one which will ensure both long and short growth in the company’s profits and preference among potential customers (Ackermann, & Eden, 2011). Among the companies which have been consistent in developing and coming up with elaborate strategic goals includes Intel Company. Been among the leading tech companies the company has every year ensured that it come up with strategies that would ensure it continues been relevant in the ever competitive technology industry.

Strategic Goals of the Intel Company

Some of the strategic goals of the company includes expanding its customer base from the current 530,000 subscribers to its target of one million customers.

The above strategy has been the long term target of the company for the last five years since the company believes it able to deliver very high quality products which will be able to change the mind of its competitors’ loyal customers. For this to be possible the company has put in place various tasks which will enable the company to achieve the one million subscribers and active consumers who will remain loyal to the company services and products (Paju et al. 2010). In addition the tasks thought are short term will be carried out in a period of two and half years’ time frame. Some of the tasks include;

1) Conducting research on consumer preference

2) Tailoring its products to meet the needs and preference of consumers

3) Proper packaging of the products

4) Proper branding

5) Sensational marketing of the product

6) Analysis potential internet providers

7) Launching flagship stores

8) Coming up with third party stores to ease flow of goods from stores to consumers.

Some of the key issues that maybe a cause for concern when the project kicks start is the issue of financial availability since the eight tasks require a consistent amount of capital flowing so that it can be achieved within the timelines of two years as stated in the strategy. Some of the tasks might also be affected by the legal environment hence legal environment might also play a factor in determining the completion of some of the tasks.
