A detailed outline is one way to keep a speech's major points straight. The outline should have an introduction, main body, and conclusion. An effective opening will pique the listeners' interest, state the speech's thesis, and provide a sneak peek at its key themes. The speech's body should include three to five primary points to back up the thesis or goal (Chang, 2019). Each major claim has to be backed up with evidence through examples, data, or anecdotes. Summarize the important ideas, reiterate the paper's aim, and leave readers with a lasting impression by writing a strong conclusion.

Without proper speech preparation, several negative outcomes can occur. For instance, the speaker may deliver an incoherent or disjointed speech that fails to communicate the intended message. The audience may lose interest or become confused, lacking engagement and comprehension (Chang, 2019). Additionally, without proper preparation, the speaker may exceed the allotted time or fail to address the main points, leaving the audience unsatisfied and unimpressed.

The one strategy for organizing a speech main idea is the topical organization. The topical organization is preferred when using personal preference, recency, primary, or complexity (Beebe et al., 2021). The personal preference is an random arrangement for the main ideas that are fairly important. Recency organizes the ideas from the weakest to the strongest. The primary finds the strongest first then to the weakest. The complexity arranges the ideas to the simplest to the hardest. This organization can only fit in this category because it only flows with this certain organization. It is organized by the aspects, subtopics, or the topics all in one (Goodman & Amber Green, 2020). Some of the negative outcomes that will happen is that the categories to choose from is very limited Goodman & Amber Green, 2020). If you use a different category it becomes more complex in the topical category.

The "topical organization" method of structuring a speech's main points involves classifying the speech's themes into related topics or categories. This strategy enables the speaker to structure their ideas in accordance with the interests or requirements of the audience, making the speech simpler to follow and comprehend.

The speaker should first determine the primary subjects or categories associated with the subject of their speech before implementing the topical organizing technique. They should next group their supporting arguments into each category and connect them logically to produce a speech that makes sense. This strategy enables the speaker to present all pertinent information in an orderly and methodical manner.

The audience's attention may be lost, the message may be unclear, and the speech's desired goal may not be attained without adequate speech preparation. Lack of preparation might cause a speech to be disjointed and unstructured, which could cause the audience to become bored and lose interest. Also, the speaker can find it difficult to express their thoughts clearly, which could result in a message that is unclear and fails to achieve the speech's intended goal.

As a result, it is imperative to do your research before giving a speech to ensure that it is organized, clear, and successful in getting the point over to the audience.
