Introduction
The two variables of interest are lateness and student’s grade. Lateness according to Online Dictionary is defined as the fact or quality of happening or arriving after the expected or usual time. Therefore, lateness is the act of coming to class after the teacher has finished teaching other students. Grade is a proof of academic accomplishment of a student at school. It is accepted that a relationship exists between lateness and students’ grade. The more times students get to class after teacher has finished teaching other students, the worst their grades. This signifies the number of times students get late to class will impact their grades. As a matter of fact, the lateness tends to negatively impacted student’s grade. This analysis is vital because students need to know that not attending class will result to missed opportunities of learning that could affect their academic attainment.
Sampling Method Used
The targeted population is of interest is high school students from different schools in a given region. The participants will be students who are always on time in classes. Moral issues will include issues of trust and honesty with the participants. Participants will be assured that the information provided will be kept confidential and no real names will be used during data analysis. Again, students will fill the questionnaires privately and drop them in a designed place for pick up. The sampling technique used is multi-step sampling because it combines different methods. Voluntary sampling was used because participant needed to feel free in sharing their information about the number of hours he or she did not attend the SAT class as well as the grade scored. Convenience sampling was also used to recruit the participants. The data collected for 30 participants is as follows;
