STATEMENT OF INTENT

I grasped my key foundation of knowledge in the third year of my undergraduate education in life – the gratification that comes after resolutely facing challenges and emerging triumphant. Be it an impromptu quiz or a complicated puzzle or a class presentation, I would never give up till the goal of winning was achieved.

My department graduated quite a lot of second-class upper students which I am one of them. My entire four years as an undergraduate has been a cycle of hard work, persistence, devotion and if I may say, God’s grace. I believe one of the major factors that made me persevere as an undergraduate would be my acceptance to the fact that unlike my fellow course mates in class, I was not as smart as they were, which made even me more hard-working, and competitive. I had no plans of being the best, I wanted to be better than my previous self and for the first time in my second year as an undergraduate I had the best grade in test that proved to be difficult. Fast forward to a year later after graduating, I left Nigeria for a work and study program in the United States of which my major goal was to meet new people and gain a new working experience. I studied mass communication in school, hence, my love for talking and meeting new people. Currently, I work as sales and procurement personnel at a shipping company and my whole orientation has changed. I now realized that there is more to life than doing the same thing over and over again. I got to leave my comfort zone which is why I look forward to learning something new in order to broaden my knowledge. My short-term goal is to acquire my master’s degree in Business analytics from the University of Calgary in the next one year. I feel like I still lack an adequate foundation in the business field. With the histrionic advance in the business world, it would be difficult to downplay the importance of Business Analysis in the business and technological world today.

A master’s in business analytics degree from the university of Calgary is a dominant link towards stimulating my career goals at this stage as business owners can no longer deny the importance of a business analyst in their organization. The school’s tactic of enlightening intuition through case studies in Management and other application strategies will help me fortify my basics and mature a well-trained managerial disposition. I stand to gain vastly through involvement in challenging industry tasks and thus apply my learnings with close guidance of highly experienced and qualified faculty. Specialist electives in management, will enable me to gain a stronger, foundational foothold in my chosen area of endeavor. The master’s in Business analysis program at the University of Calgary will provide me with the kind of comprehensive education and research experience that I need to refine my ability to apply sound business principles to internet and real-life applications. I am an intuitive and imaginative problem solver with a foundation in analytical processes, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. I believe that my work experience has afforded me with a sound basis for further study of key elements involved in the effective use of business analysis. I am also motivated by an understanding of the ever-changing reality of the technological world and the need to boost my own proficiency and professional aptitude.

The additional area of importance to my goals is leadership development and International exposure, the University of Calgary provides the platform to interact with globally distinguished faculty and a diverse student community and develop interpersonal skills and comfort on a global scale. It also opens landscapes for networking extensively with the vast alumni network and learning through seminars from global business leaders. The University of Calgary is my sole choice for a graduate program because it’s learning environment is unparalleled; its professors are elite in terms of their wisdom and the quality of the university is unquestionable. I have had the unique opportunity to meet with a graduate of this university and indeed I have heard great things so far. It is my hope to experience these great experiences and be able to give great comments too when I proudly graduate, walking away, serving others and my community as I have been served. I also look forward to contributing to the school's strong international alumni network
