Transaction Activity
As can be seen on the left, this is the first half of my transaction history after the first half of the semester. It started with me selling my YANG stock and purchasing more TECH stock. The YANG stock was not meeting my expectations, so I waited until it was high enough to at least retain some of my money back. TECH on the other hand was trending upwards, this lead me to invest more into that stock. I also sold ALGN as I thought it had peaked and wasn’t going to continue upward.
Transaction Activity
After the first three most of my transaction history revolved around completing the assignments within stocktrak. The bonds I picked had the highest interest rates and had the shortest period because I thought it would produce the most returns. After the bonds I used the short transaction type. I used companies I was most familiar with to successfully use the transaction type. After that, I purchased mutual funds after doing some research on funds that I thought would be the best.
Transaction Activity
After the arrow, I used stop and trailing stop buy and sell transaction methods. I used these transaction methods on companies I knew, and could somewhat predict the direction of. I also used a dividends purchase and limit buy in there as well. It then moves into me buying equity in other markets as well. I wasn't entirely sure which companies would be best, so I skimmed through the options until I found two that I liked and invested.
Transaction Activity Part 2.
Moving forward, I purchased a lot of futures because of the activities required in StockTrak. I picked the futures I thought would be the best. I also purchased some spots and cash spots. I picked the currencies I was most familiar with. The last purchase I made was some stocks in the Hongkong market. I was not familiar with the companies there, so I sifted through companies until I found two I felt comfortable investing in.
Current Positions
Currently all of my stocks besides a few are doing well and continuing to provide profit. These would be stocks such as CAT, SONY, and NVDA. Along with many smaller purchases of stocks such as UNH, BSX, and ZNH.
The ones that are bringing my revenue down significantly are IMO and GDXD.
GDXD has finally slowed its decrease but it is not rallying back at a good pace. IMO on the other hand was looking like it was going to fix its slump, but is continuing to decrease. IMO prior to this was trending up for 2 months.

Market Conditions
I believe one of the reason for some of the decreases in my portfolio is the increase in the FED funds rate which is shown in the graph to the left. The other portion of it can be because IMO has been extremely volatile over this past year but has continued trending up other than the past couple weeks. This may mean it is taking a dip and will rise again as it still ranks above almost all other companies in its industry. Another reason for the way my portfolio has turned out is because the volatility in most of the markets has been high especially in my large stock investments. I think that volatility has been because of FED fund rate and the changes in inflation which is causing the disruption of constant revenue.
What Might I Change?
If there was anything I could change about my portfolio, it is that I wish I had a better understanding of trailing stop and regular stop purchases at the beginning of setting up my portfolio. I think it would have helped greatly minimize my loses from the large increase and decreases in many of my investments. I also think I would have liked to look into less long term investments. According to my pie chart in stock trak, about 68% of my portfolio is considered long term investments. With this class, I would have liked to have performed better in the rankings, and by investing in long term I won’t get to see the outcome of a lot of my stocks. To me long term investing has always seemed safer, so I followed my instincts on what to invest in. I also think short term investing would have added a little bit more excitement to this project overall.
