Effect of AI on Information System Infrastructure

            In my opinion, Artificial intelligence is something that will have greater effect on how things get done in our day-to-day life. Organizations around the globe that understands AI’s transformational power are greatly investing in AI products and services in order to make the enterprise “smart”. Artificial intelligence is one of the major areas that is growing exponentially. It will be a differentiating factor for most businesses to identify, evaluate and act on use cases, innovations, and growth opportunities for AI systems, and the digital disruption caused by these technologies will be extremely significant. One of the major impacts of AI on information system infrastructure is that it will demand the need for greater resources. According to (Amabile, T. M., 2020), AI requires greater computing power, access to GPUs and CPUs with multiple cores to process vast amounts of data generated every day. As this vast amount of data are processed, it also requires huge storage space to store the data and retrieve it for future needs. I also think, intelligent monitoring supported by artificial intelligence will become one of the greatest things to keep track of networks and to monitor them continuously. We could also leverage machine learning and automation combined with artificial intelligence to automate tasks that could be finished a lot easier using automation when compared to manual labor. If the resources can be freed up, I think they can concentrate on other tasks and it greatly improves the efficiency of an organization. Some of the home automation devices like Alexa, Google home, etc. are gaining more users these days. Devices like these make our life a lot easier by adjusting thermostats to turning the light bulbs on to adding things to our shopping cart and everything else easier. I think, AI will definitely change the information system infrastructure greatly but in a good way to make life easier for man.
