SPT 501 Module Seven Short Paper Guidelines and Rubric (Data Analysis and Interpretation)

An important aspect of a research study is the ability to analyze data and then describe the statistics derived from that data in a form that is easy to understand and interpret. For quantitative data, this can include representing the data visually through tables, diagrams, and graphs. Review the quantitative descriptive statistic examples in the Sport Involvement article. Next, in a two- to three-page paper, briefly describe how presenting statistical data in a meaningful way can be useful in relaying sports related research. Provide examples from the article and at least two other examples from other sources. In addition, review critical element IV: Data Analysis Method of the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document. Now that you have some understanding of both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, describe in your paper what you might consider the most effective method(s) for analyzing and presenting data to support your final project research question. Provide specific examples of what type of analysis methods you would use and explain why they are appropriate for your research problem. What are some ways to present the results most effectively? Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Describe how presenting statistical data in a meaningful way can be useful in relaying sports related research. Provide examples from the article and at least two other examples from other resources.

II. Describe the most effective method(s) for analyzing and presenting data to support your final project research question. Provide specific examples of what type of analysis methods you would use and explain why they are appropriate for your research problem.

Guidelines for Submission: Your paper must be submitted as a 2–3-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one- inch margins, and discipline-appropriate citations in APA format.
