Some tips on Kruskal Wallis tests using SPSS

Enter the data in 2 columns into SPSS eg. (Plant & soil) combination (eg. Oats Red, Oats Red, Oats Red etc.) (Mycorrhizal) score (eg. 0.2, 0.175, 0.3 etc.).

In Variable Viewer rename variable 1 as "combination" and change to "ordinal". In Variable Viewer rename variable 2 as "score" and change to "scale".

Select "Analyse", "Non parametric tests" and "independent samples" as per the website below:
