7.11 Submit a Topic for Speech 4, Persuasion
Persuade the audience to get involved in a topic that matters to you, recycling, climate change, drug and alcohol abuse etc. Another option is persuade one thing is better than another, iPhone is better than android or dogs are better than cats.
To avoid inappropriate choices, I will provide feedback and approval for your proposed topic.

Speech 4, Speaking to Persuade Final. Record In Big Blue Button/Conferences. No Exceptions!
Include your Name and Topic on your Conference.
Limit two Conference submissions. Label both Conferences with your name and speech title. I will grade the Conference that you upload or copy and paste the link/URL to this Assignment. Practice your entire speech out loud 3-5 times before you record, I do not expect perfection.
For example; convince or persuade your audience to travel to France, recycle, stop smoking, learn another language, or not to text and drive. Anther option is a comparison, or which is better arguments. For example; iPhone is better than android or android better than iPhone, imported automobiles are better than domestic or domestic (USA) automobiles are better. You can have a little fun, dogs are better pets than cats, or Batman is not a superhero because he doesn't have a super power. No pornography, nudity, or sexually explicit or violent pictures. The same rule applies for inappropriate language or obscenities.
Speak for 5-7 minutes, five minutes minimum and seven minutes maximum. Two points are deducted for every ten seconds over or under the time limits. Speech, 180 points possible, see the rubric for additional information.

Use an approved form of PowerPoint or slide presentation. Remember to use oral footnotes, cite (say them) in the introduction is best, and/or throughout, a minimum of three credible sources. A Works Cited page on the last slide is great but is not an oral footnote.
Professional clothing is required; dress like you are attending a job interview, a pressed/ironed dress shirt & tie, or professional clothing, no inappropriate (low cut or see through) clothes. If you appear in the full screen, no shorts, tee shirts, sweat pants. No hats, preferred.
Pay attention to the setting (avoid a messy room or distracting background). Check your audio connection, lighting, and camera angle. Three-point lighting is best. Have your camera at eye level or slightly above. Point your camera away from a light source to avoid glare. Avoid pointing your camera upward or we may be looking up your nose.
