From I was in a young age, I always came up with different ideas. I also like to try to study new things, piano, painting etc.… however, I found that I most interested in communicating with person and help them. Also, I do cares about the environment problem. I want to be a public management through people and the company. So that I think SPEA is what I dream to get in.
When I was in high school, I was like to be the leader of my friends. I have attended the International Future Business Leaders’ Summit in Shanghai that time; it was a business competition to design things to sell to gain money. I planed the whole presentation and assigned the tasks for my group members. Also, I managed the finance that I decided which time we need to sell and which time we need to hold the money. Through my management we achieve the award of best seller. From that time, I feel I was suitable for this kind of work. Because I have some confidence, it inspire me, so I will feel more interested in management on doing other things. Then, it seems easier to me to do some research and study on management.
After I get in to IU, I took the class of pre SPEA. I feel these courses are very helpful and benefited me a lot. Like SPEA V160, this class use America policy to show the environment problem in the world. Also like SPEA E 272, I studied the environment in the earth and it arouses my thoughts. I would never know so much deeper and academic concept until I took this class. People need to living in a sustainable environment and have good communication with each other. Government need person to manage this relationship, I think I am very suitable to do this job to manage to relief the serious problem between environment and people; to create a better society for citizens.
Through the study in IU, I met the dilemma. I was thinking about transfer to another major because I think SPEA needs student’s strong patient and logical to solve things. While I am not good at patient, I sometimes will be agitated with heavy research. However, SPEA’s missions support me to be patient. Only skilled leaders can solve people’s relationship. It is a very important key to study SPEA.
