Part II: Speech Introduction
I. (Attention-getting statement): Imagine jumping out of a flying plane and discovering your parachute doesn’t work. What memories do you think will flash before you? Now imagine the parachute opened. How differently would you act when you landed?
II. (Establish credibility): This is how my career path as lawyer presented itself. Being a lawyer comes with unique obligations. Becoming a lawyer has been a dream for many. However, many do not realize the challenges we have to undergo to be one.
III. (Relevancy statement) : We are expected to observe not only the rule of law but also be grounded on ethics (Elliston & Davis, 1986).
IV. (Central idea): A law degree is a great way to start off as a lawyer but to improve one’s presence among the rest one requires credibility and network.
Body
I. (First main point)
A.
1. A career path in law comes with expectations. We are obliged to carry out researches, draft memos and frequently be on the know of the current happening around the world.
2. Lawyers do most of the work. Be it in the offices, the courtroom or the libraries
B.
1. According to Dinovitzer & Garth (2015),the legal profession explores various work polices. This may include the military, the department of states and public policy.
2. The enormous undertaking opens doors for many undertakings. Let’s not forget its good pay wage compared to many of the professions we know.
II. (Second main point)
1. There are various types of attorneys based on ones area of specialization (Haireet al., 1999). Students may consider being corporate lawyers, company secretaries, family lawyers etc.
2. The path of consideration is based on a number of areas of specialization. This could be from bankruptcy, international affairs to environmental law
1. The trick in pursuing law is taking finding a job and specializing in a field that one enjoys.
2. For many their choices are based on economic problems or personal influences. Personally I chose the career path because I knew from the age of 14 that I wanted to be a lawyer.
III. (Third main point)
1. As an enthusiast of matters economics the corporate world seems to serve me best. During the course of my researches and interning, I was able to meet Andrew Forsythe. He was instrumental in helping me decide on the path I would consider as an individual
2. Before pursing the career, I realized that it is important to spend three or more years of intensive study beyond the degree program. This gives you a competitive age from the rest.
1. Lawyers are able to accomplish their dreams based on talent and passion. The road to being a successful lawyer isn’t as many perceive it to be.
2. We are presented with a number of hurdles. Forget the bar exams offered by the school. The systems shape our ways of thinking and how we conduct business. The real deal is being able to stand the test of time and fighting to the end for the same purpose that presented when pursuing law.
Part III: Conclusion
I. (Summary of main points)
Choosing a career can prove to be daunting. For many, the pitfalls are a s result of fear or lack of awareness to the path of career decision. Lawyers, just like many other professionals are presented with unique challenges they must overcome. From a young age we see lawyers fighting cases on various programs. This builds a kid’s enthusiasm. However, we grow up into our own version of ourselves by believing in ourselves and the paths we choose.
II. (Memorable closing statement)
All our dreams come true when we have the courage to pursue them. As Virat Kohil put it ‘self believe and hard work always earns one success.’
