IV. DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT

You will first read a cultural reading or readings in the target language. You will then write a 400-500 word essay in English describing the significance of a cultural element of the target language’s region, providing specific and multiple examples from the cultural readings. In addition, you will include your thoughts on how the cultural element reflects your own personal experiences and knowledge, giving examples of how the cultural element connects to or differs from your own family and friends beliefs, current events, and topics covered in your classes. This process will include three main steps: 1.) read the cultural readings compose a rough draft, 2.) participate in a peer-review session & 3.) perfect and complete a final draft.
