Research Question

Should Abortion be banned, and why should we keep a baby?

Hypothesis

According to Mother Theresa, “Abortion is the greatest destroyer of peace today because it is a war against the child... A direct killing of the innocent child, ‘Murder’ by the mother herself... And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love, and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts...” Therefore, it is a hypothesis that giving Birth to a child is something God wants; that is why he says in the Bible that a baby is a gift from heaven. (Theresa, n.a., p. para n.a.)

Abortion should be Banned vs. Giving Birth

Abortion is a medical or surgical procedure that deliberately ends a pregnancy before an embryo or fetus is born. Opponents of Abortion typically object to the practice for religious or ethical reasons, contending that the procedure constitutes the cruel termination of what they consider to be a viable human life. Those who support a woman’s right to choose an abortion argue that access to safe, legal abortions is a human right. In Roe v. Wade (1973), the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution protects a woman’s right to an abortion through the end of the first trimester or the twelfth week of pregnancy. After twelve weeks, a woman’s access to Abortion may be restricted based on the discretion of the states and the level of risk that the pregnancy poses to the woman’s health.

The issue of Abortion remains highly controversial, and state legislatures have enacted laws to restrict and regulate access to the procedure. Several of these laws have been challenged in federal courts, with some rules being upheld, such as denying state funds for the process. Iowa adopted one of the country’s most restrictive abortion laws in May 2018 when Governor Kim Reynolds approved a bill prohibiting doctors from performing an abortion if a fetus has a detectable heartbeat, which can be as early as six weeks. Other laws, such as those requiring spousal consent for an abortion, have been struck down. Politicians, religious leaders, health care providers, and activists each contribute their perspectives to the ongoing debate.

Opponents of Abortion generally refer to themselves as pro-life, while advocates for reproductive rights typically identify as pro-choice. Differences of opinion persist within both movements. Some pro-life activists may condone abortions in cases of rape or incest, while others take an uncompromising stance, believing that all Abortion is murder. Within the pro-choice movement, some activists contend that no restrictions should be placed on abortions, while many who identify as pro-choice support laws that require a waiting period before the procedure can be performed or laws requiring minors to obtain permission from their parents.

Abortion be Banned

Let’s discuss the reason why Abortion should be banned. First, according to the Bible, Abortion is a sin against God. As God’s creatures, we are not supposed to do Abortion because it is not good. Second, Abortion can give you cancer and infection depending on how you do it or if the doctor doesn’t have enough experience. In addition, you can lose your life in Abortion, or both of you can dead I mean you and your baby. Abortion needs a lot of money to pay the hospital, and you may need money to buy blood or some protein because you can get anemia after an abortion.

A mother kills her unborn child because it is unwanted, but she’s not charged for murder. Is it right? There are about 46 million abortions per year worldwide and approximately 115,000 per day, but why? Is it because rape or incest, health problems with either the mother or the child, or just because the baby’s unwanted or inconvenient at the time? (The Alan Guttmacher Institute.) Abortion should be banned because too many babies are being killed from abortion, if you don’t want a child, you could always put it up for adoption, and most mothers don’t understand the consequences that occur from Abortion. Is there a difference between Abortion and murder? If a doctor killed a child one minute after it was born, it would be murder, but it would be the mother's choice if a doctor killed a child one minute before the child was born. 52% of abortions occur before the 9th week of pregnancy, 25% happen between the 9th & 10th week, 12% happen between the 11th and 12th week, 6% happen between the 13th & 15th week, 4% happen between the 16th & 20th week, and 1% of all abortions occur after the 20th week of pregnancy. (The Alan Guttmacher Institute.) You could have a baby that’s born at week 22 and still have a 15% chance of living. (Siegel, Reva) If the mothers didn’t want the babies, she could have always adopted them. (123help me, n.a.)

Giving Birth

According to Eda J. Leshan, “A baby is like the beginning of all things: wonder, hope, and dream of possibilities. In a world that is cutting down its trees to build highways, losing its earth to concrete, babies are almost the only remaining link in nature, with the natural world of living things from which we spring.” (Leshan, n.a., p. para)

The Birth of a child can be such a happy time, especially when the little one is very healthy. We all have seen the movies when a new child is born; some of us are lucky to see it first-hand. Some of us do get goosebumps, me being one of them. It is just so exciting to see that little life come out of what has been in that big belly for nine months. We sometimes refer to the Birth of a child as labor. If only it were as easy as the name sounds. However, it is not. There are three main stages in Birth. The first stage is the longest, lasting 12 to 14 hours with the first Birth, and later labor is shorter. Dilation and effacement of the cervix take place here. The uterine contractions gradually become more frequent and show more content.

They are getting the most care that they can help a lot. Even normal babies need support and grow a good relationship with their parents to last forever. Although babies spend most of their time sleeping and eating, they still transition to different stages. For example, reflexes are the most common for people to recognize organized behavior patterns. Also, a crying baby is what everyone recognizes. However, it is somewhat good when the baby cries because it stimulates muscular discomfort that the adults can realize. Usually, the baby just needs a diaper change or needs to be feed, but sometimes it's more, and it is the parent’s job to figure out why the baby is crying. The parents must soothe them; they can do this by rocking, walking, swaddling, and whispering. The baby also is developing its five senses, so the parents mustn't interfere with the development. For example, using screaming very loudly can ruin a baby’s hearing. Vision is the one that develops the least. Nerveless newborns can recognize human faces and want the mother’s familiar face instead of a stranger. (Bartleby, n.a.)

Conclusion

After reviewing the research of both studies, this report provides a comprehensive review of the state of the science on the safety and quality of abortion services in the United States. The committee was charged with answering eight specific research questions. This chapter presents the committee’s conclusions by responding individually to each question. The research findings that are the basis for these conclusions are shown in the previous chapters. The committee was also asked to offer recommendations regarding the eight questions. However, the committee decided that its findings regarding the safety and quality of U.S. abortion care responded comprehensively to the scope of this study. Therefore, the committee does not offer recommendations for specific actions by policymakers, health care providers, and others.

In addition, Birth can be an extraordinary time in a woman's life. The nine months of pregnancy and labor and delivery are filled with many physical and psychological changes, as well as lifestyle changes. Each change poses a challenge that can be met successfully when the woman shares her feelings and experiences with a partner or other supportive person and with her physician, midwife, nurse, and childbirth educator. The importance of health care throughout pregnancy is emphasized because proper health care increases the likelihood of a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby, and satisfied parents. Many references, particularly the Human Relations Area Files, describe cultural variations in pregnancy, birth beliefs, and associated behaviors.
