There are several sources of information that would help you in your Maine Bank coursework. I do not expect you to look up more than a few of them. Once you feel you have sufficient information on, say on UK Retail Banking, Investment Banking, Call Centres, Fintech IT staff, Relocation post Brexit, stop researching. If you have difficulty finding a source, move on to another source.

1. Internet Sources

1A Google in phrases such as ‘Bank Bonuses’,’Bank Pay Structures’,’Reward Management Santander, Lloyds, Barclays etc ’,’Salaries in Investment Banking’,’Bonuses in UBS, JP Morgan,’ ‘Relocation post Brexit’,’Fintech’. If you get information from a reliable and reputable source e.g. serious newspapers such as the Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, you can use this information, but remember you must quote the source e.g. Daily Telegraph article on…….1A

1B Go into the CIPD’s website and search under Reward. Type in ‘Reward Strategies post Covid-19’

1C Look up XpertHR on the My Library Databases. Click on HR in Practice, Pay and Reward.

2. Paper Sources

2A Serious Newspapers and Magazines

Look at serious newspapers & magazines e.g. People Management. They often have articles on regulation in banking, post Brexit resourcing/relocation, banking bonuses, retail banking, reward post Covid, and so on.

2B Bruce’s lectures

In some of my lectures I have examples of reward in banks. You can use these, but give the source as my lecture on….. Do quote from any lectures given by outside speakers to, say, the North London CIPD Branch.

2C Recommended Textbooks

Your handbook lists recommended textbooks. Look at the index at the back of each to see if there is any reference to banking or a particular bank.
