A. Surf the web to find an advertisement for purchase. Purchasing departments often calls these “solicitations”.

1. You are to find a solicitation for services, from any source, except from an organization where

you work, have worked or where family or friends currently work. An example service could include lawn cutting service, maintenance, etc. Most cities and counties have free websites to browse their current or past solicitations. Do not spend any money to view solicitations, simply try another location. Also, if you do not understand the solicitation, or documents, choose another solicitation.

B. Read your solicitation, focus on the requirements in the statement of work. C. Write your narrative about what you just read, in MLA format. 2. You are to write a narrative of not less than 300 words that summarizes the solicitation in terms of

what is being bought. Often you can find the details of what is being bought by viewing the “statement of work” some offices may call it the “scope of work”.

3. Ensure that you answer all of the questions below in a narrative format in addition to any other

details that you would like to share. D. Create your Power Point. 4. Create a Power Point and upload your PowerPoint, Narrative and Solicitation to MyTCC

What’s being bought? Who is the requesting organization? When is the due date? What is the evaluation criteria? What is the bid/quote acceptance period? What is the F.O.B Point for Inspection and delivery? What are the delivery terms? What is the suggested NAICS Code or what does your research suggests? What are the discount terms?
