1. What is old to you?
Old means one has retired from their profession and they are settling to spend the rest of their lives being in tune with themselves and reaping the fruits of their work before dying. Old also means that one’s body has started to age and it is no longer as youthful as it was before.
2. How do you know when you are old?
One knows when their old when their body starts to change and they need to take more careful measures in preserving their health. The face wrinkles and the body look frail or become smaller and weaker. Being old also means one starts to recall the past and takes time to reflect on their lives.
3. How did your subjects define old?
The subjects usually affiliate being old with having wisdom. They may not have the same energy as when they were young but they were still young at heart and they wished they could do more in their life. They take their time to build positive environments with others as they spread their love and wisdom.
4. What are some of the ways we can develop self-esteem?
Being old does not necessarily have to be something dreadful. Old people spend their lives doing positive things, helping out others and putting more effort into building their intrinsic lives. Others engage in activities that help to keep them fit and healthy as they celebrate their lives with others in passing wisdom. Some older people take time to build their spiritual lives before they die and take time to care for others. Old people can also take part in community projects that help to build better lives for the poor in the society.
