1. Sexual double standard is when men and women are judged differently for doing the same exact thing. Events and social movements such as the me too movement, and shedding light on the fact that women are paid less than men for doing the same job is becoming more common. I feel as though there was always a double standard growing up, and it's unfortunate because i am a girl and girls usually get the worst end of this situation. Women are really the ones stepping up to the double standard because most of us just want equality. One example could be how men could slack off at a job and just get a warning, and women get fired if they slack off. One example where men fall into the worse end could be the amount of leave time they get when they have a child. Women get a numerous amount of weeks and men only get a couple weeks and go back earlier than women. Granted, women went through the child birth and pain, but they also need all the help they could get at home from the father. Overall, most women, including me just want equality and I feel like women will not stop trying to find new ideas to consider ourselves equal to men.

2. Sexual double standards can refer to women and men being judged differently for performing the same sexual behaviors.  I think women are more judge then men. it seems that men are allowed to have more "freedom" than if women have sex with a guy now they are known as being judged and looked at differently. Sexual double standards can also refer to body image, social media and sexual identity. Women are judge all the time by the way they look, act or even viewed in society.  As a woman, I do believe you should protect yourself because double standards can put you at a high risk of STDs or unwanted pregnancies,  but also it should not matter what others think or say because it is your body if you chose to do what you want. For example, this reminds me of a time when I was in high school I met a guy in school where I decided I did not want to have sexual intimacy with and the next day during school he decided to tell the whole school that we did have sex. This was my worst high school experience because when will this double standard stop? Now because I did not want to have sexual intimacy with this guy I am called all types of names, such as slut or whore, but he is a so-called rewarded for this behavior.I just find that to be so backwards because now if you don't have sex with a guy when he wants to now you are a "slut" but if you do decide to have sex with a guy you still can be called a "slut"  this is something I've never understood.  Now that I am older I realize how affected women are by double standards today. Even years ago women always tried to fight to become equal women were also mistreated by men and look down upon. Events and social movements have challenged this attitude because we are not taking a stand or speaking up.  I believe we all have a voice we should able to express and show how we feel in order for things to get better.

3. Sexual double standard is judging different sexes in different ways for doing the same thing. An example of sexual double standard happens in social media when it comes to sexuality. In society women who have the most likes and followers are usually the ones that post some sort of sexuality in their pictures or posts, while the women that are fighting hard for feminism are taking a back seat. Guys can do idiotic things and become social media famous. The best example are these tic tok videos. You see more women being sexual and cute and the guys are doing the dumb acts. Technology is playing a big role in challenging the sexual double standard because like my classmates stated, women that are shamed for being a "slut" for having sex while guys are being praised for it. In modern day society, you can "order a girl" on the internet much easier then ordering a pizza. Women are trying to get away from being slut shamed for no reason, and technology is bring them back down.

4. Sexual double standard is when one has separate rules about what men and women should and should not do sexually. This standard has harsher rules for women and is more lenient with men. For example, a man with many sexual partners may be seen as “cool” and people with sexual double standards would justify it. On the other hand, if it was a woman with the same amount of partners, she would be bashed and criticized for it. Although there is still a double standard, it was more common and stricter in previous years. Factors that have altered and diminished the double standard include awareness being spread on social media. As a social media user for many years, I have seen people on it fighting to change the perspectives of people who think that women should be harshly judged differently because of sexual partners. Because social media has become so easily accessible via phone, which most people always carry, it made it easier for people to see posts about diminishing the sexual double standard. Many feminist movements have also been responsible for changing the double sandard. It has spread an understanding of women owning their bodies and therefore being free to do as they please with it.

5. Sexual double standard is defined as men and women being treated differently based on doing or saying the same thing.  Going off of the last chapter, men are expected to act or do things a certain way, and vise versa with women.  Under these double standards, women usually have the smaller end of the stick in the fight.  However, I believe that some things are better off being treated differently, and for that reason I do not consider myself a feminist.  For example, take relationships.  I like the idea that men propose to women, men are expected to be the gentlemen and hold the door, and women do not have these expectations upon them.Being someone who played sports my entire life, including a year in collegiate levels, I laugh when I hear female athletes fighting for equal pay.  It isn't possible.  Take the NBA and WNBA for example.  In order to be paid a certain amount, you have to bring in more than that.  The NBA brings in billions of dollars a season, whereas the WNBA brings in only a fraction.  There are less viewers, less teams, less competition, etc.  Now, if the WNBA grows to a large size equal to the NBA, then yes they deserve the same pay.Another example of something that has challenged this attitude is the feminist movement.  However, I think this movement is counter-intuitive.  The name itself only suggests females, nothing to do with equality of men as well.  It is a movement fighting for equal pay, domestic violence, sexual harassment, etc.  It definitely challenges the current situations of the nation, but some are not as reasonable as others.
