Part 1

All teachers want their students to achieve their goals and increase their achievement levels. A small group instruction has a quick impact on students and commonly used in classrooms, small group instructions follow all the instructions and help to reteach specific skills and concepts, small group instructions are beneficial whereby: the instructions are personalized and feedback is immediate. A small group comprises of 4-6 students (Brown, 2012). As a teacher choosing a small group is a better way to pass knowledge to the students. With the small number of students building confidence through collaboration which enhances confidence to students who do not participate in the lessons actively

The topic taught was Women’s suffrage. The benefits of teaching the topic in class help the student to learn skills and concepts which are also beneficial to the society. The students will learn skills of better reading and learning, social studies is the area where content integration is key. The students learned the virtues of boldness and being courageous(Brown, 2012). Despite being a woman Anne Hutchinson was stronger and able to challenge the authority without fear which helps the students learn despite their gender they should be strong to state their issues. Students with the help of the topic understand more on religion(Brown, 2012). After the lesson I gave the students an assignment on the topic women’s suffrage.

During the instructor’s visit to the school, she was pleased with my teaching lessons and he enjoyed watching the actions and commented me being a phenomenal teacher. But also some there are some areas which need improvement like improving on the materials I use for teaching, it should be understandable to all the students regardless of their abilities. Therefore I must improve on this so as to be the best teacher. Personalizing student experience is one of the ways I would have used to improve on struggling students. Empowering students to be active in class which will improve the concentration

Apart from videos and integrated reading materials I used to teach the students, other strategies like group discussions would have helped with the struggling students to be able to be withthe smart students (Brown, 2012). Role playing in the class whereby every studentshave a role to play will help the students be active and able to get more knowledge. Grouping students by their ability so as the struggling students does not have a rough time with the first learners. Lessening the information given at a time to give the students time to allow the students to recall what was taught on the previous lessons.

Part 2

Reading fluency is important because it bridges word recognition and comprehension. It helps the student to focus on what the text states and therefore the student is able to understand what the text is saying and also to recall what was written in the text. Oral fluency is the ability of the student to read loudly normally oral fluency help in memory keeping and the students remembers faster when he reads loudly. The students reading fluency helps the student decode the text faster than when the students is not fluent in reading, therefore reading fluency really matter in understanding the text.

Part 2

Instructional strategies are all approaches a teacher uses to engage students in learning process actively. These strategies drives the teachers instructions as they work to meet specific objectives and making sure the students get to understand what they are taught in class. Effective instructional strategies meet all learning styles and the developmental needs of all the students. Variety ensures that students are ever bored of classes at all the time the teacher is teaching. And students are exposed to different strategies and learning styles, students will engaged longer and enjoy the lessons, the teacher should align the students with the content being taught.

Cooperation strategy helps the students interact socially. Students can learn and increase their knowledge without teachers therefore social interaction helps the student to interact with others freely and therefore increasing their social knowledge (Eison, 2010). This happens in group work which is done in pairs or more. Creating a pleasant environment for studying will help the students understand each other very well, certain conditions have to be fulfilled. Weak and strong students can support each other cooperatively (Eison, 2010). Active participation in groups work has a positive effect on the amount of the items a student can remember. All the members does not have to cooperate with each other. Silent students will have a place to raise their voices and also to explain where they do not understand and seek help from their stronger students.

Elaborate strategies this is where the students integrate new knowledge into existing ones, cognitive structure. They are used when students invent analogies and facts to be learned. This strategy links new ideas with the previous and also to formulate them in their new words. Learning via images and rhymes by also exposing the students to synthesis exercise and to those which require stored knowledge such as brainstorming, finding analogies, mnemonic devices and utilizing notes. Revision strategies gives students a wide range of information each day at school which is anchored in long term memory by a single pulse (Eison, 2010). It acts as a precondition for remembering.

Organization strategies aims at organizing new knowledge by making connections with different knowledge elements (Eison, 2010). This strategy also helps in memory keeping. Subject matter can be made clear, with forms of visualization. Students with reading and spelling problems may improve their skills by using highlighting techniques, since materials have been systemized by highlight

Creative space is a vital component across all schools and helps students feel comfortable while studying. There should be spaces where one is free to dance and create storm. Creativity flows when the students feel comfortable in their surroundings and when creating student taste should be considered(Moore,2014). Also, creativity flows through active encouragement and collaboration and enable opportunities to reflect and gives hoe to go further. Permission to create space and make it your own, this might be through music and art. It also enables students who are introverts to make their voices heard.

A safe space is also important component where the student feels comfortable and where the students are not afraid to ask questions and share their thought. It starts with trust and safety. When the students believe in himself, the team and the process. A safe space influences culture creation and create openness and trust among the students (Moore,2014). Motivation culture is another component and student are made part of the environment and it motivates students to learn. By creating a safe space also encourage the students not to be afraid to make mistakes. Learning as a mindset because we rely on existing tools, approaches and knowledge

Intensive reading so as to enhance reading techniques, taking time to read more and more so as to be fluent, developing writing skills, making your writing activities as meaningful as possible, cohesive devices, looking for connectors and starters to correct where the writer want to make a mistake. Skimming is a process of reading faster to get a general information, underlining the nouns makes it easier for the student to pick the general idea and concepts.
