SOCIAL MEDIA AND BUSINESS WRITING 4
Social Media and Business Writing
Business writing is one of the essential competencies of all correspondence within the context of business operations and the processing of crucial results. In the contemporary business world, though, much of the contact between the big business stakeholders have been dominated by social media. It is also important to remember that the current world is extremely diverse and that certain cultural variations need to be addressed in social media communication (Guffey & Loewy, 2018, p. 17). Particularly, the less formality shown on social media sites has had considerable impacts on expertise in business publishing. As such, it is difficult to keep up with the latest industry trends and developments in the constantly changing world of online marketing, particularly in the area of social media. Writing on social networks is more than ever is an important part of a successful marketing strategy (Weldy, 2017). While not all advertisers are confident about their structured communication skills, a consistent set of guidelines allow for the production of reliable, effective content.
Although and social media network has distinct pitfalls and basic rules, some universal approaches extend to both social media and enterprise-based writing channels. By content sharing and brand awareness, social networking has become an important medium for marketing organizations. This provides a big handle for business communicators in seeking to find a balance between social media requests and expectations and still uphold requirements for business writing. As such, company communicators should maintain a structured signal communication system for their social media interactions. This means that the drafters of the messages should remain formal and represent factual data depending on their target audience. Stretching business writing rules may be appropriate where the audience is diverse; however, maintaining the highest standards is more efficient. The communication workers should make the writing real, creative, and believable by using realistic and appealing images, pictures, videos, and references with hyperlinks. They would also enjoy having more helpful and meaningful content on the site, contributing to a greater amount of views and activities that allow them to attract a wider audience (Itani, Agnihotri & Dingus, 2017, p. 70). This process of social media posts has been significantly commercialized, especially in the marketing department, which means that the companies have incorporated business based writing.
In the long run, careful consideration of the audience forms the basis of the communication process, social media, or otherwise. It is as a matter of the fact that most of the social media users are young people and the sites are a secondary communication channel (Guffey & Loewy, 2018, p. 19). Many business players in the new knowledge-based sector use social media platforms to get access to information, connections to external sources of information to share essential information about a given enterprise. The marketing or promotions department does not broaden the guidelines for professional business writing to suit the demands of social media in this regard and for any company. Practitioners should exercise their due diligence to ensure they specifically choose their audience and offer content that is important to them without the limitations and biases of the vocabulary of social media or assumed audience.
