Values, morals, behaviors, and beliefs are major elements that play a role in the self

identity of a person. The formation of these components shape the human nature, behavior, and

the development of an individual purpose. All people have some sort of wo

rldview. A

worldview is a perception or concept of the world. In order to understand people, one must first

understand the characteristics and what makes up the whole person.

The world consists of many

diverse cultures.

It is

important for counselors to beware of these different stereotypes so that it will not

affect the counseling relationship. It is important for counselors to know about different cultures

and their beliefs. This will make the client feel a lot more comfort

able, and this will help the

client and counselor build a good relationship with each other. This will yield to positive results

for the client and counselor.

Counseling a person from another culture requires a significant

amount of practice, because a counselor should not

want to

appear rude to a person of an

other

culture. I do plan to be open to ideas that could lead to growth in all aspects of my life. I plan to

use the knowledge that I have acquired and integrate it into my professional career as a

counselor.
