I. INTRODUCTION
A. Across the world, diverse cultural groups are benefiting the human race.
B. Every cultural group has something new within them to learn.
C. By thinking positive towards other people's culture expand one's learning.
D. Therefore, it becomes vital for counselors to be aware of their biases to improve their practice.
II. DEFINITION OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY
A. Culture shape one's influences behavior and identity.
B. Culture refers to shared behavior, norms, materials, values, beliefs, and language.
i. Most of these aspects might be passed from one generation to another (Banks 2015).
C. Cultural diversity refers to the existence of various ethnic or cultural groups in a society.
i. Cultural diversity recognizes, respects, acknowledges, values, and empowers other cultures.
1. Recognizes the diversity of cultures.
2. Respects the differences of each culture
III. PERSONAL HISTORY
A. Identification of personal biases
i. Individual race and how it can affect my counseling career
ii. Multiple sexes such as gay and same-sex marriages

C. Experiences with discrimination documentation
i. Occasionally I have seen individuals been racially discriminated because of language, gender, sex, cultural, religious, ethnic differences.
ii. I was contempt in school due to my firm belief in religion
iii. At school and with my friends, I have experienced some sort of discrimination. Having grown up attending the majority of Caucasian schools, I faced some challenges interacting with white students and friends.
D. Memories of encountering different cultural diversities.
i. Throughout my educational background, I have interacted with several people from different cultural backgrounds.
ii. Due to my virtues, I have learned to appreciate and respect other cultures.
iii. I am a member of various clubs that advocate on diverse cultures. Interacting with the other members gives a chance to read something new.
E. The effects of interaction with people from different cultural backgrounds on my life.
i. At some point, the interactions with other people from different backgrounds have affected me. According to Kuwamoto (2016), lousy childhood encounters might negatively affect individuals. It thus means compassion is expressed to those who might have had lousy experiences while growing.

iv. My discrimination experiences have also led me to be sympathetic to the minority. According to Felitti & Anda (2011), "therapy can help people to recover from bad experiences." As a result, I feel determined to help those who cope with the issues they experience in their life.
IV. RACISM AND DISCRIMINATION CONCEPTS
A. Subtle racism definition
i. Subtle racism refers to a situation where stigmatized people face pervasive discriminations daily (Liao 2016). An example may be a case where an employee gets denied the opportunity to enjoy various networks in the workplace because of their racial differences.
B. Cause of significant differences in people's perceptions and values
i. The experiences of people as a result of their childhood. This is because people are brought up in different cultural backgrounds.
ii. Every person has his/her own worldviews and ideas. This makes their perception of a particular topic different from others.
V. REVIEW AND REFECTION OF ACA OR ASCA CODE OF ETHICS
A. Discussion of the ACA Code of ethics (Kaplan et al., 2017).
i. Multicultural Competence
ii. Self-care for providers
1. Therapist risk for compassion fatigue (Sprang, 2007).
2. Strategies for them to handle compassion and burnout fatigue.
3. Planning of self-care should be before signing occur.
B. Importance of Cultural sensitivity
i. It helps to build respect and trust for therapists.
ii. It helps in creating a positive environment with clients (Lutz 2017).
iii. It enables therapists to ask clients critical questions when diagnosing an issue.
iv. Lastly, it promotes collaboration between clients and therapists
C. Balancing behavior through communication across cultures
i. People have language barriers due to different backgrounds.
ii. Challenges of clients speaking out their issues due to fear.
D. Using strategies to build rapport
i. Using a translator in case of a language barrier.
ii. According to Hultgren (2011), people should learn new languages.
iii. People should build up body and sign language.

VI. CONCLUSION
A. Everyone should respect and appreciate other people's cultures and beliefs. All differences ought to be taken as opportunities to learn new things, thus improving on the basic knowledge about the culture. Understanding cultural competence can thus help me to become an excellent therapist.
