Students are expected to read relevant academic and non-academic materials (articles/news reports/videos/blogs, interviews and/or observations) assigned for each topic on a weekly basis.
You can complete this 'Reading' by reading the culture chapter in your textbook and/or by using any of the materials listed above to read something on culture and answer the following (please note your sources).
· What new idea did you learn from the assigned readings/topic?
· What sentence, phase, observation, etc. do you consider the most significant? Why?
· Was there anything that you did not agree with? Why?

Film Analysis - Native American Boarding Schools
1. Watch the documentary "Unseen tears: The Native American Boarding School Experience" you can find it on Youtube - there are 3 parts to this documentary.
· Take 2 points from the documentary that you felt were significant and discuss why (approximately a paragraph for each point)
· then another paragraph about your overall thoughts about the documentary.
· You need to include vocabulary and concepts from the Culture Chapter in your work.
2. Watch "Hidden America: Children of the Plains" (28:29)
· Take 2 points from the 20/20 episode (10 points each) that you felt were significant and discuss why (approximately a paragraph for each point),
· then another paragraph (10 points) about your overall thoughts.
· You need to include vocabulary and concepts from the Culture Chapter in your work.
