Choose two different career paths within the field of social work. Explain the educational requirements, for entry into and for advancement in each of the two careers. Explain if you feel the educational requirements are sufficient for the role people in both careers play. Explain why.

Andrela Spencer

Hello class,

Medical and Public Health Social Worker is a career path for social work. Public health social workers need a bachelor’s degree, but a master’s degree can offer more deepness of considerate of the connection among social work and public health concerns.

You can also be a professor in the social worker field. Professor teaches scholars about societal transformation concept and the preparation of becoming a social worker. To convert a professor, a master’s degree is essential at a minimum, even though several colleges also need a Ph.D. degree.

I believe the education requirements are sufficient for these two jobs. Any field of work your in the more education you have the more money you make.

Explain how the social work field differs from the other social sciences (psychology, sociology, anthropology). Compare and contrast the varying levels (micro, mezzo, macro) where social workers are employed. Identify and explain the purpose of the social worker role in each.

Class,

Social work seems to take the research and knowledge acquired by sociologists, psychologists, and anthropologists to make a social impact. The "work" in social work says it all. Farley, Smith, and Boyle (2012) say that "the basic functions of social work are (1) restoration of impaired social functioning, (2) provision of social services, and (3) prevention."

Social work can prevail on the micro level by working with fostering and adoption, on the mezzo level in community centers and services, and on the macro level through healthcare legislation. These are just a few examples that demonstrate how far reaching this field is. This should be a very interesting class. :)
