ARCHITECTING THE IT GOVERNANCE PLAN
SLP Assignment Expectations
As a consultant to, or manager of, an IT unit within your selected organization, you must be keenly aware of challenges facing your selected organization. This assignment asks you to identify, intellectually discuss, and broadly report on at least two of the most important (in your view) strategic issues faced by your selected organization. In particular, note how these issues have influenced the organization you are considering. Why has the consideration of them positively affected that organization? Conversely, what have been the negative effects on the organization because of not considering them? Make sure you relate the issues and concerns you discuss to IT Governance. Additionally, if failure to properly consider an IT Governance issue has caused the organization problems, how would you alter the IT Strategy? Alternately, if the Governance Issues have aided the organization, what more might you recommend doing? Please provide some detail/examples as you write this paper.

Introduction
Technology plays a very important role when it comes to ensuring that business is up to date and successful in running their different errands. IT planning can be described as the discipline that is within the domain of information technology and information systems that is concerned with the making of different planning processes for the investments of information technology. Moreover, the process of decision making also becomes faster and more efficient, very flexible and a properly aligned process (Hyde et al., 2017).
In Information Technology, the computers are in a position to make use of any computers that are available, store the necessary information required for the proper running of the organization, the process of networking and other physical devices that are available. Moreover, IT makes it possible to create, process, store, exchange and even secure all the forms of electronic data that the organization has. Making use of IT commercially involves both the technology and telephony.
The Context of the Website
The context of the website is referred to where an individual can successfully show different visitors who visit the website that you care about them. The Visual context of a website really carries a lot of information that is unspoken. It reveals more than what is obvious to most of the websites. For instance, an individual can choose to use a milkmonkey for the 404-error page. This is to show the visitors who have visited the page that they have seen the effort that they have put and that they care about the mistake that has been made (Lloyd, 2020).
Sometimes it is impossible to avoid the errors that may occur on the website. If used wisely, the visual context can be in a position to underpin the messages that one is trying to communicate to the audience. Visuals most of the time can really evoke some of the memories and trigger emotions that could not have been triggered. As an organization, if you are in a position to focus on what you want your visitors to do when they visit your page then making use of the visuals will be the best strategy. Retaining the visitors will be easy too. As an individual with a website, always know that expertise and authority make it easy for your client to trust you. Trust is important for the success of the organization (Schwalbe, 2015).
Convince people that you can offer the best quality of services and that they can trust you for the best deals. Moreover, to make the context of the website more attractive visual contexts to highlight the messages. While individuals can forget the written contexts, it is very difficult for them to forget the visual contexts. It is obvious that you cannot present all the information in visual context, but it is possible to represent a part of the message in visual form.
In the visual context, always learn to leave an impression to the viewers. The first impression that a consumer gets will either make them continue looking out for your content or they will go for other competitive websites. Always come up with a creative idea that will attract more consumers into viewing your content.
General Principles and Strategies and IT Planning
The general planning can be of great to the organization by providing information and framework that applies to IT planning. IT planning can be very difficult especially when the organization different departments which require different technology to be used. For instance, working with a dealership of Caterpillars, there is always an initiative toward rolling out the old computer that have been in the organization for a long period of time to the new ones that the main caterpillars will be using. There are different pieces of information gotten from DR. Ross A. Wirth website which can be of great significance to the project of rolling out old computers from the organization. The different principles that are outstanding include the role of the planning Consultant, The Environmental Monitoring and Value Scan. These processes give an understanding of using the three main processes and how they flow in different departments (Marnewick & Langerman, 2018).
With this kind of project, what can be done to the users across the enterprise include the general principles of the role that the planning consultant is supposed to do and apply to IT planning. Reading through the website, as the individual in charge, make a clearly definition of the different roles beforehand to avoid any type of confusion in the planning period. The IT planning project leaders are supposed to define boundaries and responsibilities that are to be respected. This is because there are a lot of pieces which are being moved. Note that it is easy for different IT personnel to overlap the responsibility of each other.
In the IT department of the Caterpillar dealership, the main task is to make sure that proper advocation has been done and sharing of different leadership roles. The group is made up of 16 individuals who are supporting 1200 users. It is important to take note that there is need to shape and be more respective in the lanes that are supposed to be strictly followed. Having a mixture in the roles that different individuals are supposed to perform brings a confusion and can even lead to the collapsing of the project. As much as the different departments need to work as a team in improving the status of the technology used, there should be distinct lanes to be followed.
In conclusion, IT planning can be difficult and have some a lot of confusion if there are no proper strategies put in place. Planning requires a lot of prior preparation that is thorough. Role exchange is prone to take place all the time when there is no proper organization and distinction of roles.
