We have learned about the radically different ways Italian city states organized their politics. This, naturally, influenced the life in these communities, including their arts, culture, and economy. Challenge yourselves to think about this topic deeply. (A) Did Florence's political and economic culture create the conditions that made it such a hotbed of brilliant art and science, or (B) did the city's strong humanist thinking shape its politics and economy? (C)What made it so much more successful artistically and culturally than, say, Milan, Rome, or Naples? On a more lighthearted note in the end(D) which of the Italian city states would strike you personally as the best place for the era? ELABORATE?
