Introduction

The re-entry subdivision role in providing quality programs to inmates, equipping them with the competencies necessary to become productive and crime-free members of society. The subdivision's mission is to provide the most effective rehabilitative care for inmates of any religion, race, age, marital status, and nation to engage in teaching programs to reduce dependency and recidivism and engage in research development.

Major internal factors affecting the organization positively and negatively

Some factors have affected the performance of the organization both negatively and positively. One positive factor is the increased cost that has been encountered by the state in keeping convicts and reduced budgetary allocations have forced the department that was given the responsibility of correctional services to review their missions (Maymand 2017). In their revised mission, they were committed to assisting the inmates with finding ways back to society. The program's success would help save a lot of the state’s millions yearly (Liu 2021). Consequently, internal factors affecting the performance of the organization are the inability to spend all the funds available for the service provision (Liu et al 2020). In the same way, victims of crimes from which the inmates were charged would have financial and social benefits from the same funds.

External factors affecting the performance of the organization negatively and positively

The organization's performance has external factors affecting it both positively and negatively. One positive factor is the division of roles and tasks among the office of program and reentry (Maymand 2017). This has enabled the organization in creating several sub-departments that play specific roles in ensuring the achievement of the underlying goal of helping the convicts in coexisting and getting back to society peacefully. To enhance tested and approved results the bureau of applied science, research and policy give a synthesis of evidence-based undertakings (Liu 2021). The bureau has been tasked with the administration of convict’s technical education, academic, and career as well as providing helpful services to the convicts so as they can rediscover their ways back to the community after their term’s completion. Nonetheless, the negative factor affecting the performance is housing addressed by the department through the provision of transitional housing programs (Liu et al 2020). It is a concern because several inmates who have been released can find shelter with their family members and relatives. The housing program's challenge is limited space and financial aspect hence only a limited number of the inmates can find accommodation.

The organization maximization of its strength and minimization of its weakness

According to the identified internal factors that have been listed previously the organization is using that to minimize its weakness and maximize its strengths. For example, the subdivision of departments has had several impacts on the success, such as the classification of offenders.

The organization is maximizing its opportunities and minimizing its threats

The previously listed external factors are being used by the organization in maximizing its opportunities and minimizing its threats. The most vulnerable area that ensures success has been enhanced with specific responsibilities (Maymand 2017). They have roles that match perfectly with the undertaking of the Florida Department of Corrections program of assisting convicts and those who find themselves on the wrong side of the law get back in society effectively (Liu 2021). The areas can be used as strength in the facilitation of housing to inmates in reception to adequately monitor their need, by providing them with jobs s well as numerous support services and not classifying on offense criteria. However, the program is faced with a lack of housing and job vacancies with the reentry of the inmates.
