Second, read Chapter 8 in Matthews and Hendricks:

Evolutionary Ethics

 

Third, prepare your Short Paper 8 (1-2 typed pages, full directions below) covering the following topics: 

 

1. Give a short history of Evolutionary Ethics, including the role of Darwin and Wilson.

2. Explain how Evolutionary Ethics gives insight into the following questions:

    A. What should we do?

   B. Why are we moral?

   C. Are there moral facts?

   D. Can we have justified moral beliefs and moral knowledge?

3. Conclude by saying if you think morality and ethics can be applied to non-human animals and explain why you think that way. The Crash Course video will be most helpful here.
