Beginning in Chapter 15 and continuing through Chapter 18, N-B discuss the French legal system and a few features of French society that make life in France different from life in the Anglo-American democracies: the business climate and charitable associations, the "choreography" of protest, and the social safety net of which the linchpin is social security (la sécurité sociale).
