your general reflection shows strong understanding, Your premise of pros outweighing cons is right on. However, something is not working, as we become a more obese nation? What is your solution?

Part 2

Good afternoon class,

There are a multitude of benefits to exercising for people of every age group and every ability. For individuals who do not exercise, it is important to provide them with the pro’s to encourage them to get off the couch. It is important for people to know that exercise can be done at home, in a gym, and even work and leisure activities can be considered exercise.

A regular exercise routine will improve cardiovascular health and limit the chances of heart disease and stroke. Regular exercise is beneficial to losing and maintaining a healthy weight. The body needs to burn off at least the amount of calories it is taking in to maintain weight, or burn more to lose weight , exercise is the best way to do so. Regular exercise helps to maintain healthy bones and muscles. Maintaining an exercise routine will allow an individual to maintain muscle elasticity as they age, as well as ward off the effects of bone and joint disease associated with aging. Finally, exercise is beneficial to mental health. Exercise can lower the effects of depression (CDC, 2018).

Cons to exercise are more difficult to discern and are far outweighed by the benefits. However, exercise does take a certain time commitment that is easily replaced by other activities. Another con is that people simply do not find exercise enjoyable and they do not stick with the program. It is important to find activities that people like and feel that they benefit from so they maintain healthy levels of activity. Often, individuals complain that they lack the motivation to exercise. They have not been provided with a reason to enter or maintain an exercise program. Sometimes explaining the benefits of exercise and the detriments of a sedentary life are necessary. Finally, often, people get discourage with lack of immediate results and don’t want to continue an exercise program. Unfortunately, exercise takes commitment and effort over a long period of time (APUS, 2018).

Exercise is important for physiological and psychological well-being. Exercise can increase an individual’s quality of and outlook on life. Everyone can and should exercise for their own benefit. Whether it’s walking the dog, playing tennis, alternating lifting and cardio or simply getting up from the desk to do laps around the office, there is measured benefit. Not only are there benefits for the individual, but for people who fund programs, their investments improve the lives of anyone who determines to be healthier. If an employer is funding an exercise program the improvement of psychological health and physical health may be reflected in both employee satisfaction and work output.

Part 3

Exercise has both benefits and disadvantages, in this article post I will talk about the pros and the cons of exercising.

PROS:

Exercise has many pros, I will talk about the health benefits, the relationships built through exercise, weight loss and overall mood enhancer. There are countless health benefits that come as a result of exercise, less visceral fat, less likely to get CVD, Pulmonary disease and others. When exercise is coupled with a proper diet, it can result in weight loss. Relationships and bonds can form from exercise as well. When you join an exercise class or just simply go to the gym and meet new people. You can find people with common interests. Exercise can also help enhance your mood. Once you get done with exercise, you will be less stressed and ready to conquer the tasks ahead!

CONS:

The cons I will be talking about are, physical fatigue, injuries, time consumption and delayed onset muscle soreness.  People may not be too fond of the fatigue that they will experience due to exercise. Exercise will raise your heart rate and cause you to work in uncomfortable situations Injuries can also occur with exercise when you do not perform a move correctly or overexert a muscle in a way that out stretches the muscles normal range and or force capacity. Exercise can take up your time and can be too consuming with the amount of time it takes to get ready to exercise, exercise and then get prepared to do other things. Delayed onset muscle soreness is another con of exercise. After you exercise your muscles will begin to be sore. Usually a day after DOMS will kick in and certain muscles will hurt and begin to get sore. This is not a fun experience because it effects daily life and will result in more fatigue.
