Service Learning Project

For my Service Learning activity, I plan on helping serve the surrounding community by spending time at Findlay's City Mission, as well as Chopin Hall. At the City Mission, I plan on helping serve food, as well as help clean the establishment. Often times, I find it hard to truly understand the struggles that many have to deal with on a regular basis. I have never actually felt hunger, and I have never had to worry about when my next meal would be. This is why I feel that serving in a food pantry would be beneficial for me to experience. It would force me to converse with individuals who experience these emotions often, as well gain some sort of understanding when dealing with future patients who may be under the same circumstances. 

I also view that conversing with people, and helping to serve the community allows for growth as an individual. At Chopin Hall, i plan on helping stock the items that have been donated, as well as help in passing out the needed items to the individuals that need them. Through this, I will be more comfortable in serving those who may be down on their luck. Overall, i have picked this as my service project because i feel that it is important for me to feel comfortable in working with people from all walks of life.
