Servant leadership is someone who does not think about themselves but care for others and their wellbeing. Right now, I have been volunteering as a co-troop leader for my daughter’s Girl Scout troop for almost a year now. As I used to be a Girl Scout myself years ago, I feel as though it is my duty to help and motivate young girls to be able to learn and adventure new things. I want to be able to inspire the young girls to have the skills that they need in order to be successful in their adulthood. I also want them to be in the community to learn what the world is like and help as much as they can in order to make the world a better place.

What would take me out of my comfort zone is that the main leader is now resigning, and it will up to me and another co-leader who would be taking over for the following year. We have already starting in our pre-discussion of what things to do with the girls for the up coming year. This will be a challenge for not only myself but my other co-leader as well. I am not use to planning different events or projects as this is something new for me. My co-leader is somewhat use to doing a lot of planning as she does at her current job. For the next few months, my goal is to make sure that I have everything planned out for the new school year for my troop so they can remain busy and learn something new during each meeting.
