SCI 100 Module Four Activity Template: Turning Questions into Hypotheses
Instructions
Write a hypothesis that is directly related to the research question you finalized in the previous module. Use instructor feedback on that activity and the knowledge you have gained from the course resources to assist you. Replace the bracketed text with your responses.
Write your hypothesis phrased as an if/then statement.
· If global warming intensifies, then the occurrence of extreme weather events is apparent.
Explain how your hypothesis is directly related to your finalized research question (in 1–3 sentences).
· We are seeing more weather events because global warming is have intensified over the years. Since global warming has intensified the weather events are also intensified.
Explain how your hypothesis is testable (in 1–3 sentences).
· My hypothesis is testable because I am either able to prove that the statement is true or false. You can reproduce the results of my hypothesis as well. I can create research and tests to prove my statement is true.
Explain how your hypothesis is falsifiable (in 1–3 sentences).
· My hypothesis is falsifiable because there is a possibility that there is a negative answer. Results could lead to showing that distinct routes that climate change affect would be causing the extreme weather.
