The areas of strength were in Category 1 where they agree mainly on the teachers obtaining information from other resources. They agreed upon that teachers do spend a majority of the time planning together. Where I work the teachers do come together to agree upon the lessons and assignments for the students within the grade they are teaching. They have grade level meetings to make sure the students are staying on task. The survey also seeks that they do seek different ideas from their colleagues, seminars, and conferences. Teachers are willing to help out when a problem does arise and leaders do take the time out to praise teachers who perform well. For example, since we are in the building and the students are virtual the superintendent observed some classes and she praised the teachers on how they did such a good job.
The weakest areas were in Category 4 and Category 3 in these areas they need areas, whereas the leaders don’t influence teachers working together. They have been on the idea of staying apart. When it comes to the mission of the school the teachers don’t feel the mission don’t represent anything, a lot of them feel like the mission should be changed to something more encouraging. When it comes to the teaching performance reflecting the mission it does, because most of the time we are on time, being respectful and responsible.
