Comfort Theory on Neonatal Pain
The purpose of this paper is to describe and examine the application of Kolcaba’s theory of comfort on the prevention and management of neonatal pain in the NICU. I’ve chosen this mid-range theory because of its ease of application to actual practice in a variety of settings and situations. In neonatal and pediatric nursing care, comfort and pain management are a top priority in caring for this population. Comfort has many meanings and definitions and can be applied to this area of nursing.
