>>Thank you for coming to see me today. My name is Matt, I work here at United Career Outplacement and basically our job is to find you a different sort of career that you can do. I understand that you did very well over at Systems Tech. You were there for quite some time, almost 20 years I believe. >>Yeah. >>And I would just like to tell you that we have a bunch of interest inventories and aptitude tests that you can take and we can create a nice little packet and make you very marketable and get you out there and get you something pretty quick, so. Why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself, tell me a little bit about what you did over at Systems Tech. >>I don't even know why I'm here. I don't understand having to go through all this rigmarole and trying to get another job and everything. I had a perfectly good job. Why should I have to even go through testing and all this stupid stuff? I don't want another job. I was doing just fine where I was. I managed a whole bunch of people. I mean different departments and I had four or five departments coming directly to me and what do I need with testing? Why in the world would you want to test me now? >>It sounds like you're pretty upset over what happened. >>Yeah, I guess. >>Can you tell me a little bit about exactly happened, what led to you losing this job? >>I went in, I went to work, it was a Friday. You would think Friday would be, you know, towards the weekend, things would be a little more relaxed or whatever. And then my boss comes in and tells me to come to his office. So, you know, I've been in his office a bunch of times before, I didn't know what was going on. I mean, I just kind of went in there with no notion at all what he's going to say. He gets me in the office and he decides to tell me that my position has been eliminated. As much work as I had done for that company, as much coordination, as much overtime, as much, everything that I've tried to do in that place and all they wanted to do was get rid of me when I could have gotten retirement at 20 years. This was just shy 20 years. >>Yeah, you were pretty close to it. >>Oh yeah, I mean, they give me this two months severance pay. I don't know, I just think it's ridiculous. It's just ridiculous. If they can give me two months severance pay, they could have paid me my retirement. They owed that to me. I worked there for 20, almost 20 years. And I don't see what you can do for me either. I don't see that you can help me at all. I just, I'm going to go. I just really need to get out of here. I can't do this. >>Okay, now wait a minute. I understand your frustration, I understand you're very upset about this. It's definitely something that you can, you know, it's very justifiable to be upset about this especially being there so close to 20 years and almost coming to your retirement. >>Yeah. >>All right, I'm here as an advocate for you. I can, there are many things that I have that I can do that I can help you find a new job and find something else that can, you know, start doing pretty soon. So... >>Something comparable to what I was doing? >>Yeah, absolutely. I mean, there are many options out there, there's many and many contacts I have I can call a lot of people. But walking out that door isn't going to help you any. So what I really need you to do is just to sit back down and we can talk about this a little bit more and we can, you know, do some of these aptitude tests, we can do some interest inventories and that will create a very, very marketable packet that we can send out to people. And it's been very successful for us before. >>So I'm not going to be wasting yours and my time? >>No absolutely not, absolutely not. I would never waste your time. >>All right, I can stay a little while. >>Okay, great, great. Just have a seat. >>I just don't want to waste anymore time. >>I understand, I understand. Well I'm not here to waste your time. I'm just here to help you out. >>All right, what can we do? >>So, tell me a little bit about what you did over at Systems Tech? >>Well I like I said managed departments, different departments with, you know, I would help oversee their operations and what they were doing in each department that was there. I started out at the very bottom thinking that this would be a great thing to do for retirement. So then we get, you know, I moved up and moved up and moved up until I finally got to my final job which is where they decided to just get rid of me. I mean, I mean it's just stupid. I'm, you know what? That guy, he could of, my stupid boss could have saved my job. I know that. I know he could have done it but he didn't. After all the overtime, after all the stuff that I have done to try to better that stupid place and he just tells me, you've got to go. He could have saved my job. You know how mad I am at him? Do you know what I'd like to do to him? >>No, why don't you tell me what you'd like to do. >>Oh, I would just like to strangle him. If I had a chance to see him again, I would walk right up to him and just strangle him. I have a gun too, you know that? >>I didn't know that. >>Yeah, I have guns. I have a gun I don't hardly ever shoot which, but I think I could do it now. I think I could get him good, I do. >>Now tell me about your plan. Like what would you do to kill your own boss? >>I would just shoot him. >>Right but do you have any sort of specific plan or is it just if I see him I'll shoot him. You know, when, where, would you go to the office, what? >>I would like to think I would, just blow him away in front of everybody but well I, I would want to do it with a gun, you know, because that's, but I'm trying to remember where it is. >>Yeah? >>Not sure where my gun is. I've got it. >>So you have a gun you just don't know where it is. >>I've got it, yeah. >>Do you have ammo? >>I don't know. >>You know how to shoot it? >>It's was my husband's gun and he always put the ammo in it. >>Okay. >>But if I had some at home I bet you I could do it. I'm just not sure how. I'm not sure. >>Okay, so. >>That's what I'd like to do. >>That's what you'd like to do not necessarily... >>I've done things before. How to figure it all out, how do you think I could work there? I had to figure out how to make things work out. So, somehow, somehow I'd do it. >>Okay. Well, an alternative to that, something I was thinking about, what do you think that would get you killing your boss? >>It would make me so happy to see him just squirm on the floor after what he did to me. He has ruined my life. I'm going to ruin his. >>Okay. What about the jail time you have to do? >>Well that wouldn't, couldn't they understand why I did it? >>I don't think that's how it works. >>What would they do? >>You'd go to jail, you'd get arrested for murder and go to jail for, I mean, I'm, I don't know how long but it would be a while. >>I guess you're right. I don't know. >>So do you think maybe killing your boss isn't the best idea? >>Well if I need to do what I told you I need to do which is take care of the family, I guess that's not such a hot idea. >>Okay, so... >>It might not work so good but it sure would be good. >>Right, I understand that, I understand your anger and your frustration towards you boss but, you know, I'm glad that you're starting to see that killing him maybe isn't the best way to go about things. Now how do you think he would feel if maybe you were working for a competing company? >>You think? >>What do you think? >>I think it would be great. >>You think that would really... >>To show him. >>You think that would really [inaudible]. >>He didn't [inaudible] to me. Yeah. >>Good. I know for a fact that there's some positions over at Mega Dynamics. >>Yeah? Well, as long as he feels bad I could consider that. As long as he really feels bad, so. >>I'm sure it's not something that he would be happy about, I mean? >>Well what's the process? >>Well, I mean, like I said, like I said before we have some inventories and aptitude tests that you would have to fill out just it, we basically want to create a little packet that we can send to them. And then we'll send that to them, I give them a call, I talk to them and then from there you'd probably go in for an interview and then see what happens. >>I guess, I guess looking at all of it maybe that's a better idea. >>Yeah because I mean especially with you, with your skill set. >>Won't be nearly as fun. >>What's that? >>Won't be nearly as fun but... >>Well... >>You know, I guess I have to be the adult here. >>We'll get along right, probably be better off. >>I know he's not. Yeah. >>Especially with your skill set and with your experience that you have definitely could be a leg up on those people. >>Okay, so. >>Well one thing that I would need from you because of all this talk about killing your boss and killing yourself, I would, it would give me piece of mind if you signed a no harm contract. Do you know what that is? >>No. >>It's basically something that you and I would draw up together and the bottom line of it would be that you're not going to harm to yourself or anyone else. >>It's like a promise? >>Pretty much yeah but in written form. It's a written promise. >>For how long? >>Until the next time we meet. We can make it for that length. We'll just build from there. >>So if this didn't work out so good we could talk again? >>Yeah, if this doesn't work out so good we can talk.
