9:53 AM Prior to class starting Scott is greeting students in the hallway. Students are getting into their seats and getting ready for the period.

9:53 AM On the board Scott has the weeks activity. On the screen Scott has more detailed what they are doing for the day as well as the learning targets.

9:55 AM Once the bell rings, Scott enters the class greets the students and take attendance.

Scott talks about today being bacteria day and reviews what the students did yesterday. Scott transitions into what the goal is for today and how to move forward. Scott goes studying strategies and how to do better.

9:56 AM Scott has the students take out the SQ3R notes from yesterday and talked with them about how they can improve their study habits.

9:57 AM Scott talks more about what the students are going to do today and gives some pointers for the lesson. Scott talks about the end of the period and then again talks about the purpose for the days activity.

10:07 AM Scott starts going over the characteristics of the y shaped diagram on the notes. Scott again calls on students to give information.

10:08 AM As Scott is writing down information from the students he is switching colors… common is red. Characteristics of Eukaryotic is blue and Prokaryotic is purple.

10:10 AM Scott tells the students this is a great list and something they might want to study for the Friday's quiz. Scott has the students get out their SQ3R notes and has the students get a highlighter.

10:11 AM On the screen Scott transitions to the notes from yesterday. Scott grabs a students 3 Coolum notes and shows it as an example of how they could do notes.

Scott probes the students ideas about how they take notes. Scott goes over how it wrote down the questions on one side and how he did his notes. Scott talks about the importance of touching their notes many times.

10:12 AM Scott polls the students how many had a questions about prokaryotes. Scott models how they might highlight their notes.

10:13 AM Another student calls out something important in the notes and Scott highlights that part of the notes.

10:15 AM Scott continues to model how to go over and review notes.

10:16 AM Scott talks about his notes on the basic structure of prokaryote.

10:17 AM Scott talks about how he could add more information.

10:18 AM Scott sets up elbow partners and assigns numbers. Scott has one elbow partner what a prokaryote is.

10:19 AM Students are released to turn and talk. Scott moves to a student that does not have a partner and talks with them.

10:20 AM Scott has the #2 tell the 3 parts. Scott encourages students to look at their notes if they need.

Scott talks about what they students are going to doing and lets them know the assignment is on Canvas, but all the information they need is on the screen. Scott goes over the procedure and some key information.

10:30 AM Scotts reviews again what students need to do. Scott assign 3 o'clock partners and then to pair up with another group. Scott allows the students choose what they are going to test.

10:32 AM Scott starts moving around the classroom and helps groups find other groups.

10:34 AM Scott is checking with groups about what they are doing and making sure they are getting things labelled correctly.
