Sanctuary Cities

Federal government intends to ban the sanctuary cities who allow the undocumented immigrants in the city to receive legal support in the forms of grantto prevent the terrorist activities in the cities. The response of residents is binary as Republicans are happy with the decision whereas Democrats are opposing this law by suggesting that the current law is promoting discrimination and racism(Joseph, 2017). Sanctuary cities have been banned in various parts of the world as various reforms have been made to limit the undocumented immigrants in the cities of different countries. Many nationalities German, Irish and especially Asian Chinees are being restricted to reside or work in the US. according to the new policies of America(Kelly, 2017). Further, it has been suggested that immigrants have to clear a literacy test if they want to reside in US such restrictions are applicable to all immigrants and non-documented immigrants are facing more difficulties due to actions were taken by the federal government. In context to the current paragraph the legal policies and legal status of states would be discuss to see their consent in supporting the current reform.
Secondly, the status of states is very important in the reference to this immigrant’s reform as either they want to support it or not. States should have the right whether they want to report the undocumented immigrants or not but the US Federal government has limited the states from having such rights, they are bound to report the undocumented immigrants in order to support the government for maintaining a law and order situation in the US. Sanctuary city hasa weaker legal system that has a direct impact on the state laws of federal government’s policies in regulating and monitoring the security concerns.Hence sanctuary policies are not consistent with the federal policies so the power of Federal government facea challenging situation while dealing with the sanctuary cities. But the Federal government has revised the policies by introducing the amendment to regulate and enforce the power and authority on states. Next, the funding restriction by the Federal government would be discussed for the undocumented immigrants in the US.
Thirdly, Federal government has restricted the funding’s for the undocumented immigrants, moreover, the states have been instructed to comply with the policies devised by the state.Sanctuary cities are financially supported by the federal government in order to regulate the policies and laws devised by the Federal government. Sanctuary cities manage the functions of the stateregarding minimizing the violence in the states, funding the disabled people are other related matter. Financial support has been a great effort of Federal government that helps municipalities and states(Joseph, 2017). If cities do not comply with the Federal government they would suffer in the form of financial support and also, they would have to face the power of the Federal government. The immigration law amendment would not be drastic for all the sanctuary cities only limited number of states would have an impact on them, for example, Chicago, Philadelphia as they lack the legal policies and would result in power pressure and financial support assistance in the context of immigration amendments. They would need to revise the policies to report the undocumented immigrants of the states to restrict them from residing and functioning in the states to stop the terrorism and related activities.
