Consider the same company ‘X’ that you have already used in assignment 1 and answer the following questions

1. Describe the roles of directional, marketing, operations and human resource strategies in the overall well-being of your selected company. (2 marks)

2. Classify the products of your selected company based on the BCG matrix. (1 mark)

3. Describe at least one partnership that your selected corporation has with other company (es). Is it successful? Justify. (1mark)

4. Describe the structure of your selected company. (1 mark)

Answers:

1. Describe the roles of directional, marketing, operations, and human resource strategies in the overall well-being of your selected company.

Samsung Electronics Corporation uses several business strategies so as to ensure that its business objectives are realized and covered to the brim. Perhaps it deploys directional strategy to facilitate its operations in every endeavor (Dudovskiy, 2017). Worth mentioning is that directional strategy acts like a rudder that steers its business activities through both turbulent and calm times. Samsung Electronics Corporation is able to maintain its focus on the company's projected goals and objectives. Perhaps via implementation and deployment of HR strategic technology, Samsung Electronics Corporation can effectively manage its employees as it can gather, collect and disseminate and communicate with its more effectively, quickly, and efficiently. Additionally, the human resources strategy has also provided Samsung Electronics Corporation management with the necessary information and decision-making tools to make effective human resource-related decisions.

It should be understood that Samsung Electronics Corporation majorly relies on the four basic business strategies for maintaining organizational focus on its current products that are being produced and supplied to potential markets. It basically relies on four different growth strategies, and among these include market penetration strategy, product development strategy, market development strategy, and innovation to ensure that the well-being of its business operations is maintained to the later (Dudovskiy, 2017). To facilitates its daily activities as well as a marketing strategy, Samsung Electronics Corporation developed a new competitive and promotional strategy. Mr. Yun formulated and imitated Samsung's new competitive strategy to develop and market some of its superior products alongside building a better image of Samsung as high-quality, stylish, and as well as brand wroth of a premium.

2. Classify the products of your selected company based on the BCG matrix.

BCG matrix helps Samsung to be able to effectively plan and decide in which products to invest most (Heartofcodes, 2018). It offers a portfolio for the company to develop and initiate long-term strategic planning that facilitates making business and investment decisions on where to put more resources and which project to discontinue their services or products.

Samsung’s BCG matrix is as follows.

i. STAR.

In this matrix, products are at their high growth r and higher market share. Examples of Samsung's products in the star category are Mobile phones and tablets (Heartofcodes, 2018).

ii. QUESTION MARK.

This product is still under development phase with a low market share but high demand for the product or service. e.g., Samsung printer and Galaxy 7 products (Heartofcodes, 2018).

iii. DOG.

In this matrix, products or services have less cash usage and declined cash generation leading o low market share and market growth. Examples of products in this matrix are Samsung TVs. And Samsung watch (Heartofcodes, 2018).

iv. CASH COW.

This is a matrix level whose products or services are in low growth but with a high market share. An example in this category is Samsung home appliances,

Samsung Electronics Corporation partnerships with Microsoft and cisco has been of significant business move it has ever had there before since the collaboration has successfully helped the company to not only succeed of the conjoint but also the development of new ways of working together to promote future mobile innovations to produce harmonized android and seamless new experiences to the customer (Heartofcodes, 2018).

4. Describe the structure of your selected company.

Samsung Electronics Corporation's organizational structure is divided according to product types. Its organizational structure is divisional, and the corporate is segmented into its primary divisions that are Device solutions (DS), IT and Mobile Communications (IM) as well as Consumers (Dudovskiy, 2017). Each division is managed separately with a lot of considerations on product characteristics and implications on new product development, selling, marketing, and other business aspects.
