Sample Write Up: Analysis

Data Analysis: Two types of analysis are proposed for this study. First, in order to provide a description of the sample from which data will be collected, descriptive information on age, gender, and soci-economic status will be described and disseminated in appropriate graphical representations, as well as the means, modes, range, and standard deviations for the achievement scores within the proposed assessments. This data will provide context of the sample and primary data on the variables under investigation.

Second, to determine any significant statistical differences in achievement scores between the control and experimental groups a paired sample t-test will be utilized. This method is used to examine for any significant differences among the two group with respect to achievement scores. Essentially, if the experimental group has a significantly higher mean score on the posttest, the education intervention of X( problem based learning, small groups, video games, etc..) can be deemed as an influential factor with respect to the differences in achievement.
