COLLAPSE

Normally, I do not include my own research within the course as I want all of us to feel comfortable in critically evaluating what we read (and I can appreciate if students are a bit hesitant to be critical of my work - though critical feedback is always a value!) In any case, I have included one of my co-authored papers here to help highlight how we conducted our literature search. You should format your responses similarly.

*********************************************************

INCLUSION CRITERIA:

used qualitative methods;

included psychological and psychosocial problems related to, or reported in the context of, a traumatic event (i.e., thoughts, feelings, behaviors, interpersonal issues);

written in English; and

reported on populations of adults aged 18 and older. We excluded studies if the study population did not directly experience the traumatic event (e.g., historical trauma, vicarious trauma, secondary traumatic stress) or if the data were related specifically to symptoms experienced at the time of rather than after the traumatic event
